We have an NFL thread, but I am also a huge fan of college football. I love the Penn State Nittany Lions. We are 11-1 with a Rose Bowl bid to play USC. What are your favorite college teams and sports?

I also live in Omaha so the College World Series is always a lot of fun.

I also like Penn State, mainly because I can't stand the rest of the Big 10 and it's fun to watch PSU beat up on them.

I used to really despise Nebraska when they ripped us off for the National title in '94so the AP can throw a bone to Tommy Osborne.

But all was better when we beat the Huskers in '02.

I wanna see you guys get back to national dominance again!!

Well, that made up for 1982. Actually it probably should have been split.

Bo Pelini has the Big Red Machine back on track and it won't be long before The Corn is back in contention.

That's hilarious! I shouldn't whine about the tom osbourne thing when our coach is almost worshiped around these parts. I bet you get tired of hearing about Joe Paterno.

I'm a Florida State fan, and I'm quite annoyed that we aren't going to get to play the Huskers in the Gator Bowl. Clemson was only selected because it would be a day trip for most Noles while Clemson fans will have to stay in hotels and spend money around Jacksonville.

No doubt, I think the Gator bowl really blew an opportunity. There's a lot of history between the two programs and it would have made for a great pre game hype and I'm sure would have stirred up good memories(though probably better for you). Plus I'd love to get one more crack at Bowden in a bowl game! Unfortunately the almighty dollar dictated a NU/Clemson match up that I would call straight-up boring.

And Nothin, I will never get sick of Joe-Pa. He and Bowden are the last of the 'good ole days' icons...gotta love em'!

Best of luck to you both in your bowl games...And Nothin, PLEEEEEASE beat USC...I just can't stand those guys!

I'm a University of Michigan fan. Not doing so hot this year but it doesn't matter because the other local rival is just as bad. (Notre Dame) However the Ohio St. vs. Michigan game was quite embarrassing.

My thinking is that Penn State's helmets look like ping pong balls. So I think they ought to just refer to them as "The Ping Pong."
