I'm not sure I'm following your question correctly, Kenneth but my immediate thoughts were:
He takes us as we are, warts and all, because He loves us. He loves us enough that He polishes us and provides paths of learning lessons, some of them very difficult. Are they meeting our needs? I think so, maybe not our needs for today or tomorrow but on down the road, we will need to already know what He has taught us to get through something in our life.
Wow - did that sound convoluted or what???? Hope you understand what I meant.

Just a quick addition... hopefully to help clarify...
There's a difference between our "NEEDS" and our "WANTS". (I've had to explain that to MANY of my friends.... LOL!)
But remember, GOD knows what we NEED & what's best ofr us. Even if we don't know, or just don't agree with him.
He's NOT going to give us more than we can handle, including things we want.
Just as my parents didn't always give me everything I wanted..... I may not have understood why at the time; but looking back, I TOTALLY understand their reasons NOW.
