Strange question about love and God's Will

Well i'm not very good at trying to explain things in my head but i'll give it a shot..

I was reading my bible the other night and this question popped into my head and I ask God about it now I'd like to ask you guys as well.

We are all created by God and are loved equally by him, yet when we fall in love with one of the people he's created we cannot always be with them. The term God may have someone better for you, but if were all created equal and want to love someone who Gods made and willing to accept them for all their faults why can't we be with that particular person? God can help that person in question to be a better man etc.

I wish I could remember what I was reading, I think it was something about Rachel and Issac or something basically go here and if this person does this you may marry her and etc.

Why can't that apply to life now? If were all created equal why is another person considered better for you then another? Very confused about that

People are not better than others in an absolute sense - but people can be better suited to us and we to them! - but actually, I believe God only has ONE person for us, if it's His will that we marry - and it may not be the first person we think it is! The injunctions here are general - but when you apply them to marriage, it's clear - God has a BEST for us and a PERFECT will - and that means either being single - or being married to ONE person - HIS choice! You need to find out HIS will - but if you desire it with all your heart, He won't keep you in the dark but will show you in HIS time!

I agree. It's about suitability. Look at it this way, Humans are flawed, so we cannot truly trust our own judgment. In all cases we should consult the counsel of God.
In many cases, we would pick the person wrong for us, in the hopes that God will fix them, when we probably should have listened o the prompting of the Holy spirit in the first place.

Caution should be exercised in taking a single bible story or even a few to answer our questions. I, personally, wouldn't begin my 'finding a husband/ wife' with the story you mention. Or for example with the book of Hosea!

Many Christians I know went about dating and marriage, no different to people who were unbelievers. At the other end of the scale some date and are so strict it's like Victorian times. We all have to read scripture and ask the Spirit to guide us.

Some ways to approach dating/ marriage will be clearly biblically wrong, many will be personal opinion. Seek God in this area and a big part of that will be reading the whole bible and praying. SofTy.
