The earth was without form and bare.
A state the Lord couldn't forbear;
He made it a place for man,
and set about His wonderful plan.
The silent dark gave no delight
so He created day and night;
put life upon the earth straightway,
and formed the first man, made of clay.
Gave him essence and breath of life,
and from a rib made Eve, his wife.
Yet sin came in, creating strife;
and mankind lost eternal life.
God's garden was disturbed within;
they stained their soul, and let death in;
God's children struggled to survive,
till Christ the Savior could arrive.
The Holy One was God's device:
a man, whose teaching did suffice
to save mankind; He gave his all
that sin would not our lives befall.
No one could know that He would rise.
He conquered death---the soul's demise.
Christ welcomes all who will repent,
whose hearts and minds are heaven-bent.
