Hello
Hope that helps2TIM 4
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
God Bless
In the context of the letters to the 7 churches in Revelation, it is a crown of life:
This crown, the one in Revelation 3:11 and the one jeffweeder mentioned from 2 Timothy are all stephanos, or crowns of victory. The crowns the Elders are wearing in Revelation 4:4 are also of the same type. Since it also is within the context of Revelation, it would be best to assume it is also a crown of life.Revelation 2:10 'Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
This verse means that we need to hold to our faith through the Tribulation until Christ returns so that you do not loose our eternal life.
Are you THE Denise Austin?
The crown IMO means our salvation aka eternal life.
The crown is a reward -- not salvation in and of itself.
If a crown is eternal life and the crown can be taken from you -- then eternal life isn't eternal is it?

In this sentence, I don't think the crown represents anything in particular. Jesus seems to be employing a metaphor based on a foot race at the Olympics. The winners of each race would get a crown to wear as an emblem of their victory. Today, we hand out medals of Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Putting Jesus' words in today's terms, I believe he would have said, "Don't let anyone take away your Gold Medal."
The term "crown" does not literally denote anything in particular. Rather, it's the race that is being compared to our perseverance in the faith. He says, "Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing . . ." Just as they give a crown to those who make it to the finish line at a race, Jesus is going to give the Philadelphians various things if they persevere and remain in his teaching to the end.
BroRog I like your thinking but I will have to agree with the others because in the Bible the crown refers to eternal life or something related to it.
Revelation 2:10 'Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
I thank you all for helping me with this verse. God bless you all!
