My brother really needs a job....
My brother has been out of work for months now. He and his wife are faithful church members, and pay their tithes all the time. He recently, due to the down turn in the economy, was unable to find customers for his business he was in, . . . . that was several months ago.
They have two boys, a house payment, other family needs, and without a job soon, I'm not sure what they will be faced with.
This whole thing was one of the catalysts that caused me to become "soured" by religious things. It says in the Bible that paying the tithe will result in the devourer being rebuked. My brother and his wife have always given tithes, and also made a faith promise to a building project, having faith that God would help them make this promise, . . . that was about the time he lost work, . . . . . I started wondering why this happened, when they were doing the right thing (in terms of what is expected as a Christian).
So, please pray that my brother finds a job. Pray and ask God why he has yet to open that door. Maybe one of you would receive some sort of answer for that question, because it really doesn't make sense to me. My brother and his wife (and kids),. . . . all good christians, but in a LONG dry spell. They are still retaining their faith, but they've already gone past the point were one could say "God is never late".
Yeah, I may need prayer too, because God doesn't make sense to me, many times.
Thanks!
"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." Philippians 4:6-7 (The Message)
