So what I am suppose to do with the dreams and visions I have from God?

This has been a real struggle for me for a couple of years now. I realize many will accept dreams from God, but not visions (that people post about)...which I don't understand why. Second while many of them are personal and what I see as lessons for me alone..private...sometimes they aren't and I want to share them so badly! But I have been very concerned about doing that much for a number of reason..first I do not want the focus to be on me...gifts from God should always be direct people to God...not to the person sharing. And second I suppose is pride...and fear...the fear of losing the respect of people on here if I post these on a regular basis...because I do have them on a regular basic...that they will think I am just a nut case (that is where the pride and fear come in which yes I realize is the flesh in me holding me back). Never said I was perfect... Oh and being told what I am doing is wrong, sinful, its the work of the devil...

And also they are so symbolic and so visual well its really hard to even put many of them into words.

Now today I did pray and ask again what am I suppose to do with these Lord? They are just so wonderful..it just seems wrong to keep them to myself. And one of His answers was to start painting what I see. I used to be an active painter...after I had my son I just didn't have time...plus I have an injury to my right hand that causes it to tremble and its really hard to paint details when your hand is shaking. Now I did start a painting of one of the things I saw in a vision last year but I couldn't take what I saw in my head and get it right ...so I kept painting over it. And finally I just gave up. I don't have the talent needed to paint what I see...how do you paint light streaming from Christ in rainbow colors? that flash and move and change like light reflecting off a diamond? Some artist can do that..I haven't yet figured it out...

So while I know to paint or draw some of this...there is just so much more too that no painting...barely even words can converge. So what do I do with them?

    God bless

We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

i'm just gonna throw this out there.

i don't think many people have these advanced gifts, and for the ones who do they can't express what it's like. i say this because i have a freind who 'hears' voices. of course i know him well enough to know he's not lying. why would someone lie about that?

and so he gets frustrated because he doesn't want to tell people cuz they'll think he's crazy or he tells me (and i can see it) how frustrated and hard it is. He says demons pretent to be angels and it took him a while to figure out how to differentiate between them. still when we hang sometimes he won't even be listening to me, and laughing to his voices....

so, sorry i can't help. but your not alone. that's all i got. much love

Moonglow, are they prophetic visions? Do they affect other people? If you have discerned these to be from God and have received Word from God, then who are you afraid of????? Who is greater than God????? I am sure if you continue to seek HIS direction, you will be enlighten!!!!!!! Remember, HE did not give us the spirit of fear or timidity.....

Well on something like that...I guess I would wonder if he suffered from schizophrenia, its not uncommon for them to hear demons or angels (or think they do) but usually other major problems go with that kind of dx. I don't just have visions out of the blue...like I am cleaning house and boom I have no. Oh no. I am in meditation with God...

    John 4:22-24
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Its very controlled. I set aside a time to do this. Go to my room and shut out the rest of the world. I don't consider this any advanced gift, but something God wants to do with everyone if they would take the time to 'see' and 'listen'.

    God bless

Exactly right!!!!! HE wants us to pray to HIM in the Spirit. It doesn't matter if people believe you or not....as, I said...do as GOD says!!!!

Glory to God...to be used by the Lord in that way is totally awesome...

The first question I'd ask is whether they look like they are intended for you, or for someone else (i.e. a specific person) or for the church as a whole.

Sometimes God may reveal something to us so we can pray about it, other times it may be something for an individual or for a group. If you're getting these things in such great detail and can draw them, even if only in outline, if nothing else it will be a record for you of what God has given you.

Do you get the meanings at the same time as the visions? I sometimes find I get a vision that's obvious, other times it takes much longer to figure it out, and sometimes the meaning comes to me in much the same way as the vision did, but some time later.
1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.

Well most of the time no they aren't prophetic as in future events...sometimes they are about the past actually. Like seeing bible stories happening on the big screen of the mind...

I just feel...very self conscious about saying this though I have posted about my visions before. I see myself in Heaven with Jesus...the angels (though I never see them clearly at all) and all the believers...sometimes I am a passive observer and other times I am part of what is going on. What I wanted to just shout from the roof tops today is what I saw in Christ's eyes. They were Sapphire blue! Always have been dark brown. I have never seen them blue..sparkling with gold highlights and He was so excited! So happy...just thrilled about something. (gosh this is so hard for me cause I know how it sounds) I wish I didn't get so embarrassed.

maybe this was all a bad idea posting this

All I know is something wonderful is going to happen. I wish I could say more but sometimes visions are like dreams (at least for me) where parts are hidden..its like I 'see' them in a haze but not clearly. Usually later I see it more clearly....its like only a little is revealed at a time. Sometimes all at once, other times it just takes time. All I know is I was just so taken aback by His eyes...and how very happy He was. Then He seems to almost always be happy. After all He is in control and not worried about anything like we tend to be. The only time I saw Him angry and I do mean angry and grieved was over the events of hurricane Katrina and what happened in N.O. because of the neglect of aide to those people. That is when I saw the flames of fire in His eyes. That is when I hid. You don't ever want that anger directed at you for sure. That is where fear and trembling come in...

I did see that before we all knew how bad it was and how bad it got. Before the news could get in there. Of course that wouldn't have done anyone any good..

    God bless

Well like I said probably most of the time they are just for me...I feel like the Spirit is teaching my spirit...you know what I mean? While my head doesn't always understand I figure my spirit does. It can take me a long time to figure some of these out. Sometimes though I know right away what they mean like you.

Sometimes I am a passive looker like I said and I see Jesus with someone else doing something with them. I saw a man baptized in the river of life there in Heaven before. Another man pulled as if dead from the river but alive when Jesus lifted him up. I see also whole cultures of people doing things...like tribes from Africa and Indians and others I couldn't begin to know who they were or where they came from. Sometimes they are working...oh like today...I saw a lady weaving a basket...another making a clay pot on a potters wheel...and there was a third one (gosh I nearly forgot about them)...right now I can't remember...but a third one making something else. Then Jesus wanted to get on a boat so we got on a boat and went down the river over the water fall....lol...yea I know that sounds funny...and out to sea to meet all the others on boats who were out fishing. And Christ stood in the middle on the sea and showed us the story of Moses in the sky around us..Moses then Noah...He was teaching

I didn't realize how much I forget if I don't get this down pretty quickly. It takes me awhile to wake up afterwards and sometimes I forget Now I have to think back and try to remember. I usually see so much..its like I am there forever. There is no time at all. And its wonderful...I don't want to come back. When I was there today I wanted to complain about feeling so bad lately..I wanted to ask for healing...about my back hurting and my neck and my dumb allergies and my teeth hurting but you know what..it all just slipped away...far far away. All these fleshly things went further and further away like I just dreamed them and then I forgot about them altogether ...when you are in Heaven is easy to forget everything else. (at least it seems like Heaven..lol)..

    God bless

I think that God sometimes gives people dreams and visions.

I've heard that in areas in China where the Bible is not available, God speaks to some of the pastors in dreams, and they teach based on that. Visiting pastors from the US were surprised, and checked the doctrine, and it was accurate.

As for the audible voices of demons and angels mentioned, I also would suspect schizophrenia.

So I think there are real and fake visions going in the world. If your visions draws you to God, and do not contradict the Bible, then praise God.

I guess if you start painting them or drawing them, do the best you can.

I've always tried to describe visions using words because my artistic skills aren't up to much. If they are for you the pictures you draw will remind you and act as a journal of sorts. They can also highlight points you might otherwise miss if you're supposed to be praying into the visions.

I would rather use words if possible...well and paint too. Its wouldn't be possible to express everything I see through art anyway. My question is...what do I do with what I see? Do I tell people? Am I suppose to share it or keep it to myself. That is why I posted to start with. I don't know what to do with this. I know all the spiritual gifts given in the bible are to benefit the church...the body of Christ...which is what I want to do...but I don't know how. Or what to do with what I see and experience. Do I just post them on the board? And pray they benefit someone in some way? I don't know.

Thanks for your help by the way. Its nice to talk to someone else that has these. It helps alot actually.

See I was not raised in a church that taught us about any type of spiritual gifts...never was a member in any church that exercised any spiritual gifts other then praying for healing of others. So I am really lost on what to do with this. Thanks.

    God bless

I do write some down but then I felt like why? Who is it benefiting outside of me? It just makes me feel selfish. What good is writing it down if it doesn't benefit others?

I would LOVE to see a drawing of his eyes! That you described.

Personally, I think that would be WONDERFUL to see a sketch, in black and white, but color ONLY in, from and around the eyes. I would probably label it "HIS EYES".

I guess it takes a long time to write all that down, doesn't it, Julie? It would be nice if you could speak and tell what was in the dream or the vision. I'd buy the CD.
    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

I don't have visions (atleast I don't think I have ) but I do have dreams...have for years. My husband was the one who told me years ago to write them down as many of them were very spiritual. So I do journal them and along the way the Lord has helped me decipher them. Sometimes it has to do with how I should take care of a current problem and sometimes it's a clue to something I need to know. Of course I don't write down every dream, and there are nights I don't remember them, but I do know the ones that are important. Due to many of these dreams he was actually preparing me for what I'd be doing now. Amazing but He knew me best and knew I'd need plenty of preparation .

I agree with ilovemetal...you should write them down. You may think they are only benefitting you now, but they will benefit others in time. Have you ever thought of starting your own blog with them if you feel that strongly...there are many places on the net with free blogging. Maybe in time you will write a book relaying them. But as for getting them out in picture form...have you thought about a computer program that will allow you to not only get it in picture form but accentuate the stream of colors coming from Christ. I like diggindeeper's idea of making a cd of what you see in your visions also. Also if you don't want to do all that writing, why not get a small digital recorder and journal them that way.

I would also be interested in reading what you see

Live your life in such a
way that, when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says...

    "Oh NO.... she's awake!"
