Considering starting a women's Bible study group...need help!

Hi, everyone! I am new here. I have been thinking of starting a Bible study group for women. I'm still in prayer over this and haven't mentioned it to anyone just yet.

I am not sure where to start. I'm not even sure that anyone will be interested and I may be getting ahead of myself, but I'd like to maybe see if you can suggest some Bible studies geared towards women that maybe I can take a look at and get a feel for what's out there and where to start. We would probably end up having women from all walks...those we are married with children, those who are still single, and those whose husbands have gone on to be with the Lord.

And, if any of you can offer suggestions or thoughts to consider or maybe even lead me to a few websites that might be helpful, I would so appreciate it.

I would suggest anything by Beth Moore. Christian bookstores will have her books, workbooks and even videos that go along for your group. She's very wise, but she also has sound theology (unlike people like Joyce Meyers).

    Welcome to the board, 2angelwings!

Nancy Leigh DeMoss has some excellent stuff available. You can listen to her online to give you an idea of where she's coming from. http://www.reviveourhearts.com/
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrus...

All children left unattended will be given an espresso and a free puppy.

I'd like to suggest "Encounters of the Heart: There's More to the Story Than Meets the Eye," by Cathy Heiliger. Great book for women studies! (See the reviews on Amazon.) Very powerful and the reflections at the end of the chapters really stimulate a lot of healing.

I completely agree that anything by Beth Moore is great. One that I like is "A Woman's Heart-God's Dwelling Place", but there are a lot more.
I will try to find one book that we used in a Tea Time Bible Study in Michigan when we were going everywhere with my DH's job....it was great. It was study about all the different women in the Bible. I know that there are several different study books about women in the Bible, but this one was really good. I have not been over a women's bible study since then, so I just realized I have not unpacked it since we moved....shame on me..

You are definitely starting in the right place with prayer...if we don't make sure God is leading us in a direction, then I don't believe it will be successful if it is only us in the decision...

I believe you will be surprised with the interest that will pop up. I know there were more women interested in the study that we had than I had ever dreamed possible...God blessed greatly..as always when we follow His will..

We would probably end up having women from all walks...those we are married with children, those who are still single, and those whose husbands have gone on to be with the Lord.
This is truly what makes the study so wonderful..we were able to have our study in the house of one of the ladies whose husband had been gone many years. There were women who were married, single, older, younger...yet we were all there for the same reason...to grow closer to God and encourage each other in our walks.

And, if any of you can offer suggestions or thoughts to consider or maybe even lead me to a few websites that might be helpful, I would so appreciate it.
As others have said, anything by Beth Moore is great...there are a few that I will have to try look up for you that are really great...sorry I don't remember the exact titles.
I will be praying for you...
