The anointing and/or ministry

The Apostle John has written the following:

1 John 2:27
27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

And the Apostle Paul has written the following:

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

Is there a connection between both passages, or a contradiction between both passages?

I would say that the 1John passage is saying no longer look to a teacher for the final authority. The Ephesian passage is saying that God has given us teachers not as the final authority but to help and guide us in our understanding of God's Word. Our final authority lies in His Spirit enlightening us through His Word;and a good teacher will always tell you 'don't take my word for it but check out what I say from Scripture'.


These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Of course, this is straight geneology from 1 Chronicles.

Nevertheless, it is the graphe (scripture) of YHWH, yes?

And certainly, all scripture is--

2 Tiim 3:16-17
16 . . . inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

So,

1) what would the anointing teach us with this chapter?

and

2) what would pastors and teachers teach us with this chapter?

(This post is congruent with the OP, by the way . . . the congruency is subtle, though.)

Verse 27 is somewhat out of context as can be seen from verse 26 above,and that is where the confusion lies. This verse was written" concerning them that seduce you" and it was simply saying that you will get an inner witness against false teachers. It doesn't contradict Ephesians.

2 Thess. 2:1-13

1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?
6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

Of course, this is eschatology from 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2.
