I'm very conservative in my dress, make up, jewelry, etc... Even when dressing up I tend to wear small hoops for earrings or simple pearls.

I love dangly earrings! I don't wear them often.... but when I do, I like round ones, kind of like these:
They're medium-sized (less than 2 inches from top to bottom of dangly bits), usually blue (my favourite colour), and very fun.... and I wear them on an ordinary day with jeans! I don't worry about whether I'm "supposed to" wear them with dress clothes. Then again, my sense of style is what some people would consider odd (bright colours, flowers, fun patterns, casual-wear like jeans most days) so I'm no expert. I just think it looks cute!

I love dangly earrings! The danglier the better! I wear them with dress clothes, jeans, pants, winter, summer, all the time. To church, to the grocery store, to my children's home, even around the house.
My little granddaughters just love dangly ones too, and I think it is because they noticed my dangly ones when they were really little girls, like 2, 3 and 4 years old.
I will add, I like dangly, not gawdy.

I love how we're all different. That makes me happy. I can enjoy and admire those types of earrings on other women, but for me to wear them!
So please ladies who enjoy gawdy, dangly, or big hooped earrings, wear them with pride! I am standing on the side line smiling inside of my heart at you for it!

I never even would have listened to her, but I received a DVD of hers as a gift, listened to it, and even choreographed a dance to one of her songs....

THIS is gawdy, in the link below. (I don't even know if there is such a real word as "gawdy. I seriously doubt it. But there should be. It is a word kinda common here in the South. Well, at least here in Tennessee. LOL)
But we have lots of words and sayings that we seemingly just created out of thin air...we say things like, "She's cuter than a bump on a pickle!" (Who in their right mind thinks a bump on a pickle is CUTE?) And Moms have been heard to say things like, "You better mind me, or I'm gonna whoop the fool outta you." As if we could really whoop the FOOL out of our offspring...

Oh, we use the word 'gawdy' (gaudy?) up here, too! It's just that what you think is, and what I think is, could be different.....
.....that being said, the earrings displayed on those models wouldn't make it to a dogfight with me either.
I guess this is just one of those 'liberty' things. People wear what they want, when they want, and if I don't want to wear it I can put on my usual flipflops/sandals, jeans, tshirt and whatever random jewelery I grab and go out the door!
