    Smile Sharing good news scriptures

    Paul quotes Isaiah 52:7 in his letter to the Romans:

    "As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news?" (Romans 10:15b)

    What good news from the Word...will you share today?
    "The flowers appear on the earth,
    the time of singing has come,
    and the voice of the turtledove
    is heard in our land
    ." SofS 2:12 (RSV)

    I think this one fits has to do with feet and is also very good news.

    Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105.

    You know this scripture makes me think of a woman who I have claimed as my mentor. She is not shy about sharing the good news, and yes, she is a beautiful person as a result of her love for the Lord.

    Another good news scripture!

    "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. " (Hebrews 13:8 NIV)
    "The flowers appear on the earth,
    the time of singing has come,
    and the voice of the turtledove

    More than conquerors.

    "...in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)

    In Christ..

    Good news...thought for today: What does it mean to be more than conquerors? In conquering something (like in taking a territory or winning a battle) we have temporary victories; but in being conquerors because of what Christ did for us by dying for us because of God's love for us..we are more than conquerors whose major victory against evil has been won already by Christ..we just need to receive this news and live and walk accordingly with faith, hope, and trust in the truth of it...

    Sis, you are such an encouragement to me.

    Sometimes I feel like I have been in a sleep..or daze...every since Nathaniel died...just carrying my sorrow....but it feels as if I'm coming awake ...or alive again....my spirit is gaining strength...our Lord continues to raise me up...all the scriptures are coming alive again to me....renewing my hope...our Lord is reminding me, in all things I am more than a conqueror through and in Christ Jesus. Thank you my dear sister in Christ!

    In reading the verse you shared I found these cross references...awesome reminders....reninforcements...good news!

    2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

    2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

    16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

    Good news! Great news!

    Thanks for your kind words and those appropriate scriptures, Debra..

    When I ponder the losses I have experienced in this life including now many loved ones and friends gone home to the Lord..I love this scripture passage which gives me such hope and comfort..It blesses me now to read it just as it did the first time I read it and probably even more.

    Here it is:
    Revelation 21:1-4 (King James Version)

    Revelation 21

    1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
    2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
    3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

    peace and blessings,

    Psalm 30:1-12
    A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

    I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up,
    And have not let my enemies rejoice over me.
    [2] O Lord my God,
    I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
    [3] O Lord, You have brought up my soul from Sheol;
    You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit.
    [4] Sing praise to the Lord, you His godly ones,
    And give thanks to His holy name.
    [5] For His anger is but for a moment,
    His favor is for a lifetime;
    Weeping may last for the night,
    But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

    [6] Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
    "I will never be moved."
    [7] O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
    You hid Your face, I was dismayed.
    [8] To You, O Lord, I called,
    And to the Lord I made supplication:
    [9] "What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit?
    Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

    [10] "Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me;
    O Lord, be my helper."
    [11] You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
    You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
    [12] That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
    O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

    Love you my sweet sisters!

    These passages from Psalm 139 always lifts me up..way up!

    Ps. 139:1-3 " O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down, you are familiar with all my ways."

    Ps. 139: 9-10 "If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."
    "The flowers appear on the earth,
    the time of singing has come,
    and the voice of the turtledove
    is heard in our land
    ." SofS 2:12 (RSV)

    2 Corinthians 12:7-10

    Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,

    "My grace is enough; it's all you need.
    My strength comes into its own in your weakness." Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

    I know there have been several times when I wanted to give up but seeing this verse assures me that God's power works best in my darkest hours. Really powerful verse!

    I find these scriptures comforting too! This is an interesting version I don't think I have seen before now. Which one is it? Thanks and welcome to the forum!

    This is called "The Message." I saw it on Bible.com a week or two ago and saw it was an easier version of the bible to understand.
