Welder4Christ...so glad to hear your persistancy and obedience paid off.

The only time I had ever fasted was to get blood drawn, so when I came to the church I'm at now, we were told to go on the Daniel Fast...no meat, dairy, soda, coffee etc. Just fruits and veggies, water, 100% fruit juice and such. The first 5 days I had such a roaring headache I was laid up in bed as I didn't take any meds, but I persisted. My family went on this along with many others at the church for 21 days and by the end we all felt and looked healthier and became so much closer to God!

This year the ministry my husband and I are in were asked to fast one day a week one month...two days the next month and 3 the month after that. All we could have was water and 100% fruit juices. We were praying over something specific so that was the reason for the fast. I had my concerns as I had never fasted that much before but I need not have worried. God always sustains you when you fast and it's coming from your heart. There were days I'd get a bit hungry but I'd pray and it would pass. Then there were days I was fine. By the third month and fasting 3 days a week I had no problem.

Yes, persistance is the key. If you have never fasted before and you are trying to overcome problems with God's help, I can see you being slightly attacked with depression and thoughts of it not working just so you woulgn't continue or do it again. Sometimes we go through these things to strengthen us though and it kept you persevering even though you didn't feel like it. That is good! God may have been silent to see if you would be obedient and faithful and trust in Him to sustain you. As you see, your persistance paid off!

It will get easier. For the difficult times, just pray for God to sustain you and He will.
