Thumbs up Salvation - there's no method, just listen and obey!!!

    Hi everyone,
I originally posted this on another forum and thought that I would share it here also, to enforce the fact that every salvation opportunity is different and must always be led by the Holy Spirit...

My friend and I would occasionally take group of young people to the movies
in a nearby city while we checked out the shops, do a little praying and pick them up later on.

This particular night we were on our way home and my friend noticed a young man who seemed to have broken down on the side of the road. She felt sorry for him so we decided to stop and see if we could help him out. He could not get his car to start so my friend hooked up the jumper leads to see if that would work. It did'nt.
Suddenly, I had this great idea. I would lay hands on it and pray that the Lord would heal the car. [Please note: I know that, this sounds ridiculous but I have layed hands on other mechanical things that had broken down and they had worked again]. Anyway it didn't work either and he was kinda looking at me sideways by then...

He asked if we were christians and we said that we were, then he asked if we could give him a lift to his friends place down the road and he would sort something out with him. So we did.
As we were driving along I was talking to him about the Lord and how awesome he was and finally he said, "If your God is so awesome, why didn't he heal my car?". At that moment I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me and I said, "Maybe the Lord didn't want to heal your car, maybe he wanted you to be in this vehicle so that I could ask you a question,"
and he said, "and what question is that?" I said, "If you died tonight, where do you think you will go to?". He looked shocked and said, "well I don't know, probably to hell". I proceeded to say that he does not need to go to hell for the word of God says, "Those who call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved".
We talked a little more and let him off at his destination and that was the end of that.

A few weeks later my friend and I went to a healing meeting in that same city and the main speaker called for anyone who had not publically confessed their salvation to come up to the front. We were sitting in the back row and suddenly I noticed that same young man heading towards the front so I immediately followed and managed to get beside him.
I tapped him on the shoulder and said hello and he was delighted and amazed to see me... "You", he said, "it's you".

To make a long story short - he told me that after we had dropped him off everything in his life went wrong. His girlfriend broke up with him and he no place to stay, he ran out of money and with all of that happening, he could hear my voice in his head for a whole week saying, "If you died tonight, where will you go to?"
Finally he said that he got on his knees and said "Lord Jesus, If you are real, come into my life".

When I met him again [that night] he was in a loving church with a group of christians that were taking care of him.

The amazing thing was, within those weeks he had led others into salvation and he introduced me to them. They were blown away
because they met the person that he spoke about in his testimony
and I was totally blown away because he had led so many into salvation because of it [his testimony].

What an amazing God we serve!

    Blessings!!!

    Hi yall,
[I have posted this personal testimony on another forum also]
It's just another way the the Lord uses every circumstance for his glory!

    Isaiah:38v1-7
This is the story of Hezekiah's illness. It's one of my favorites because of the testimony that I am about to share.
It was 1995 and my father became very ill. He was 77 at the time and after a medical appointment, he was told that he had some type of internal bleed that needed an urgent operation. They were very concerned because of his age and told us that he may not survive and if he didn't have it, he would bleed to death.
At that time, my mother was not a christian and relied entirely on my faith. I told her that I would go home and pray about.

He was checked into the hospital and specialists were going to check up on him the following morning. My father hated being in hospital and he was'nt a christian either.

Anyway that night I wrestled with God till dawn.

One of the scriptures that I pointed out to the Lord was Hezekiah.
Hezekiah became ill to the point of death. Isaiah the prophet told him to put his house in order because the Lord told him that he was going to die and not recover. Hezekiah was very upset about that and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly.
The Lord heard his prayer and saw his tears. He Told Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that he would add 15years to his life and will deliver him and the city from the hand of the King of Assyria.
He also gave him a sign of his promise. [please read for greater detail].

Any way, I brought this fact before the Lord and said" Lord you did this for Hezekiah, you can do anything, nothing is impossible to you. I ask Lord that you add another 15 years to the life of my father!" This wrestling went on all night until dawn. The Holy Spirit spoke to me time and time again saying "relent"
But I couldn't relent because if I did and he died, he would go straight into the flames of hell and I could not let that happen.

Finally I relented and said, "Okay Lord I will leave him in your most capable hands, I will trust you with my father but Lord, If it be your will, please heal my father and when the specialists see him tommorrow, let them find nothing and please Lord, let him come home, he hates it in hospital and I want a chance to talk to him about you.

To make a long story short... The specialist checked up on him the following morning and said that they could not find any bleeding, just an area that was now healed so they told him that he could go home that day.
My mother got saved because of it and my Father had 7 years added to his life and I know that today, he is in heaven with our wonderful saviour!

Can the bible be used in a practical way today!! yes yes and Amen.

He is the same yesterday and today and forever!

    Blessings!!!

That is soooo wonderful!!!! I love to see that light in their eyes. When I got saved...there were people who had known me before and I hadn't really said that I had asked Christ into my life but they all commented on how my face had changed. A girl I had went to High School with, who I take Journey classes with now at my church told me "Jessica, I knew you in High School and I always thought you were nice, but now...YOU GLOW!!!" It is soooo crazy. My eyes are physically more open. lol God is WONDERFUL!! We are made just for him, and yet we run for sooo long!!! I thank him for his grace!
