Hi everyone,
I originally posted this on another forum and thought that I would share it here also, to enforce the fact that every salvation opportunity is different and must always be led by the Holy Spirit...
My friend and I would occasionally take group of young people to the movies
in a nearby city while we checked out the shops, do a little praying and pick them up later on.
This particular night we were on our way home and my friend noticed a young man who seemed to have broken down on the side of the road. She felt sorry for him so we decided to stop and see if we could help him out. He could not get his car to start so my friend hooked up the jumper leads to see if that would work. It did'nt.
Suddenly, I had this great idea. I would lay hands on it and pray that the Lord would heal the car. [Please note: I know that, this sounds ridiculous but I have layed hands on other mechanical things that had broken down and they had worked again]. Anyway it didn't work either and he was kinda looking at me sideways by then...
He asked if we were christians and we said that we were, then he asked if we could give him a lift to his friends place down the road and he would sort something out with him. So we did.
As we were driving along I was talking to him about the Lord and how awesome he was and finally he said, "If your God is so awesome, why didn't he heal my car?". At that moment I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me and I said, "Maybe the Lord didn't want to heal your car, maybe he wanted you to be in this vehicle so that I could ask you a question,"
and he said, "and what question is that?" I said, "If you died tonight, where do you think you will go to?". He looked shocked and said, "well I don't know, probably to hell". I proceeded to say that he does not need to go to hell for the word of God says, "Those who call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved".
We talked a little more and let him off at his destination and that was the end of that.
A few weeks later my friend and I went to a healing meeting in that same city and the main speaker called for anyone who had not publically confessed their salvation to come up to the front. We were sitting in the back row and suddenly I noticed that same young man heading towards the front so I immediately followed and managed to get beside him.
I tapped him on the shoulder and said hello and he was delighted and amazed to see me... "You", he said, "it's you".
To make a long story short - he told me that after we had dropped him off everything in his life went wrong. His girlfriend broke up with him and he no place to stay, he ran out of money and with all of that happening, he could hear my voice in his head for a whole week saying, "If you died tonight, where will you go to?"
Finally he said that he got on his knees and said "Lord Jesus, If you are real, come into my life".
When I met him again [that night] he was in a loving church with a group of christians that were taking care of him.
The amazing thing was, within those weeks he had led others into salvation and he introduced me to them. They were blown away
because they met the person that he spoke about in his testimony
and I was totally blown away because he had led so many into salvation because of it [his testimony].
What an amazing God we serve!
Blessings!!!
