... my refrigerator broke on Friday evening. My husband can (and does) fix everything. The compressor is bad - so while it can be fixed, the cost is not insignificant AND all the parts places are closed for the long weekend. Plus, my husband and I are watching our money very closely until we find out what we have to do about his vision/occular problem.
We have a cooler and went and bought some ice. It kept things cool enough to not spoil but we knew we were going to have to do something - so yesterday, I called a friend and fellow professional/co-worker who creates "Use and Care" videos for a major appliance company. I asked if he had any product at his studio that was for sale because we needed a refrigerator fairly badly.
Well, when God answers prayer, he answers it in ways that are better than we could ask or think. Today, we went to the studio and picked up a $2,500.00 refrigerator that could not ever BE sold. It was a "mock-up" of the real thing, a proto-type, hand assembled by the engineers for the video shoot because the production line hadn't made any at that point. It's beautiful - stainless steel, in-line water and ice filtration, ice and water dispenser on the door (Crushed or cubed!!!). All for nothing - nada - take it, it's yours.
The icing on the cake? When my husband was bringing it in the house, a neighbor who moved away a year ago happened to drive by. He stopped and helped my husband get it in the house. Perfect timing, huh?
God knows what we need, when we need it. He constantly knocks my socks off!
