    Fatal Addictions

This is a song I wrote to anyone who is struggling with any kind of addiction. However, I'm not sure if I used the word hell appropriately, so if I could get feedback on that I'd appreciate. Other than that, I hope you enjoy!

Grab the drink and save yourself
You're only creating your own hell
Warnings are flashing, sirens are sounding up ahead
Do you remember what happens next

Recall all your nightmares they're coming true
Fears under the surface are crushing you
Drive by seductions, sudden corruption of all you believed
Before you know it you've been decieved

    Chorus:
    Numbness will chase you
Apathy will try to be your friend
    Don't let them take you
These lions will fight to win
There's only one way, there's only one way
There's only one way to salvation

Quiet tongues lead into the dark
Pick up speed as you fall apart
The chains are far reaching, the claws are bringing you right in
Blame it on anything but what it is

Silence is the biggest killer here
Driving you to rethink why you care
Everyone's watching, nobody's hearing what you say
You're greatest failures are on display

    Chorus

    It's so bittersweet, these memories
All you used to be, these memories
They can save you or break you
    Give up or take you
    These memories, these memories

    Chorus

    (Whispered)
"I came to give you life"

Hi musicmiss - it is obvious you're not referring to 'hell' in the Biblical sense, but that's ok - your meaning is clear.

This poem is very 'fire and brimstone' - which is sometimes a good thing .

    God bless.

ok thanks for your feedback i appreciate it! I dont mean it to be fire and brimstonish... i just mean to say that when people think they're addictions are going to save them, they know deep down they really wont. it's just like a reminder i guess.
