Yeah, God doesn't send any human's to hell....they choose it themselves, by choosing to reject, deny, and trust the true Lord and Saviour.

What I can't figure is why would someone who wants to reject Jesus be against wanting to go to hell? Why would they want to go to a heaven where Jesus whom they reject, is eternally worshipped, adored, and praised?

I agree. Why would they want to live where Jesus is king?

Is it God punishing them or is it their own nature that punishes them?

We'd all love to believe that God is not a God of wrath but we can't escape it - in fact it's His Son who takes vengeance on unbelievers...

when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power... 1 Thess 1:7b-9 NKJV

It's pretty clear that Jesus is the One doing the punishing - "taking vengeance".

Don't forget that the Lamb of God is also the Lion of the tribe of Judah...
