I know this is no way to live a christian life style but how do i get rid of this mindset? then afterwards when rethinking about this mindset i feel that i am not worthy to be a Christian. I also feel theres apart of me that wants to make the change from a sinner to a child of God but theres still the old me in me that wants to stay a sinner. Did anyone else feel this way when they first came to know Jesus? Also a side question. What type of things did you battle with when first comming to God and how long did to take you to switch over from your sinful life style to a Christian life style?
(John 1:33 [KJV])
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
(John 3:5 [KJV])
Jesus answered,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(John 20:22 [KJV])
And when he had said this, he breathed on
[them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
(Rom 8:6 [KJV])
For to be carnally minded
[is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.
(1John 2:16 [KJV])
For all that
[is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
(John 5:14 [KJV])
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him,
Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
YOU ARE FULLY QUALIFIED TO BE CALLED AS CHRISTIAN, BECAUSE HE CALLED SINNERS TO REPENT.
(Mark 2:17 [KJV])
When Jesus heard
[it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
(Heb 10:26 [KJV])
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
(Heb 12:1 [KJV])
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset
[us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
(Rom 6:1 [KJV])
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(Rom 6:2 [KJV])
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
(Rom 6:3 [KJV])
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
(Rom 6:4 [KJV])
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
(2Cor 12:9 [KJV])
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
(2Cor 12:10 [KJV])
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
