    wwe vs mma

actually its about the 2 "sports" in general. Which do you perfer

MMA- authentic fighting in a cage

Pro Wrestling- scripted sometimes rehearsed wrestling in a ring

    Wrestling
Pros- The matches are given storylines and wrestlers given charaters to make the experience more exciting. when a wrestler is a heel or "evil" fans tend to hate him so much they often want to see him get his just deserts.

Matches are given gimmicks so you dont see the same thing over and over- Cage ,matches, table matches etc

The wrestlers do things in matches which we wouldnt see in an ordinary fight, but are also quite impressive- top rope maneuvers, amazing if not authentic throws and submissions, sharpshooter, 450 splash etc.

    Cons-
Its not realistic, alot of stuff in the ring wouldnt happen in a real fight and the strylines can be soap operaish.

    MMA
Pros- Authentic, the guys are actual martial artists using realistic moves.

There are no silly over the top plots involved, just fighting.

Cons- As 1 man once said, realistic isnt neccessarily fun. Many of the more useful moves tend to be dull and some matches can get repetitive. I remember watching a few MMA dvds and was bored outta my mind. Most matches involved 1 guy trying to push the other to the mat and just punch him over and over until the bell rang. Some just ended in a few seconds when a guy got in a lucky punch. One guy actually won by running away from his opponent for abt 3 mins until he kicked at him, then he grabbed his leg , mounted him and punched him over and over til the time ran out.

    So what do you think.

Got to go with MMA,as bad as I hate to. After taking up judo,I learned that one cannot escape from a arm bar like they do in wrestling.

When i was a kid my dad would take us to wrestling and it was clean family fun. You could see that some of it was faked but it was a great time and good show.

I wish i could feel comfortable taking kids to wresting today but.....

Actually, the WWE now is being toned down to 'PG'.

yeah real- real-ly repetitve and real-ly boring sometimes.
But the thng is the stuff that they do none of us probably can do, it takes them lots of training and skill to do the moves properly, and they authentically can be injured and often are.
Besides movies are fake too, as long as you acknowledge that its not authentic it can be really fun

No need to bash on MMA or WWE.haha

I use to be a fan of WWF when I was younger. Me and my dad would always watch WWF. Stone Cold Steve Austin was my favorite.lol

Then we went to a WWF smackdown when I was little I just remember that it was the first time that they had a TLC match on smackdown. It was the hardy boys vs the dudly boys vs Chris Benwatt and I forgot his partner at the time.

But someone went to hit matt in the face and you could clearly see that the ladder didn't hit him. I was only ten years old, even though I knew that it was fake from the moment I started watching it, cause my dad would tell me, I thought that they would be able to do a better job of hiding it.

After that I started to get out of the faze of watching WWF every week.

Several years passed and I then my uncle ordered a UFC fight it was probably like number 4 or something like that. I watched it but didn't get into it.

Then I become a jr in high school and it's my second year on the wrestling team and my brother bold starts talking to one of the coaches, that we barley knew, aboug GOD and how we would pray before every match and every practice and then we find out that my coach is a Christian!haha
He opened us up to the world of MMA.

Yes to get it down it takes a lot of repitition so that it becomes second nature and you don't have to think of the move. Drill and drill and drill and drill and drill some more. That's what my coaches used to say.

But I will admit WWE has more entertainment, at times, while cagefighting can be sometimes a bit boring. But for me I like MMA more because I can look at what the fighter is doing and actually know the move. While as my uncles and dad think that they can get out of certain manouvers I can tell them no they are stuck there because of the weight.haha

Big time MMA fan here. To me, most sports are a metaphor for the fight, and I love how MMA is just barely still a metaphor.

Did anyone catch the Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida fight on TUF9 finale? I was rooting for Guida, and even though he lost I don't feel bad. He certainly made Sanchez earn it. I was also cheering for Demarques Johnson who lost a heart breaker by submission... right up until he got choked out it was ramping up to be one of the UFC's best fights ever.

    There is no comparison.
MMA is the real deal while "wrestling" is all a scripted act.
