How to repent???
And if I renounce sin but only feel halfhearted about it, am I lying???

True repentance is not mere "lip service". To repent means, "to turn", and implies, "coming to a right mind". It signifies corresponding action. True repentance will bear fruit.
Lk 3:8 "Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance..."
Acts 22:20 "But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance."
Hos 14:2 "Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips."
If we confess our sins to God, and repent, and then continue in the sin, we are deceived. We are serving our lusts, rather than the Lord (Titus 3:3).
James 1:22 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
God bless you![]()

Who are you lying to? God knows your heart, do you think he won't know if you don't mean it?
Christ gives us the power to walk in righteousness, but we can't choose both.
There are two kinds of Christians, those who disobey and those who strive to make Christ the Lord of their lives. The second is a progression, where each day, you pray that God will give you the power to overcome sin in your life. The path he puts you on is sanctification.
If Christ died for all our sins past, present and future? You sinning, is just adding to the beating he already took. I think about Him, when I'm sinning, Because when I sin, it's another lash of the whip or another pierce from the spear.
How can I subject my Lord and savior to that?
I still sin, but it saddens me when I do, and ALL I can do, is beg for MORE undeserved mercy and try to be more like my Master the next day.

Q: Was this the state of mind that David was in when he wrote "Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me."?
Why would he ask that if he didn't detect insincerity in his heart about repenting? I get like this too, so my approach is to ask what he does. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Ah yeah, I remember having that question pondered in discussions when I was a young Christian. Is it necessary to be 100% sincere to be saved and repent from your sins? Many churches give this impression that if you are sincere about things you are saved, but let's be clear. The jews after Christ were sincere in trying to keep the law and sacrifices, we know from Hebrews that some even who were Christians were perhaps still practicing such things, so. So I don't believe sincerity alone has anything to do with repentance or salvation. If I had my software installed I'd cite some verses from Romans (which I wholly recommend reading). We are not saved by our actions or works, we are saved by our faith in Christ and the grace he shed for us upon the Cross.

The Antichrist will be taught and raised by the christian church. He will come from your own, not from the "outsiders". "Thus saith the Eternal, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house. . . ."
