    suicide

    My step-father's niece- my cousin-
We are fairly sure that she commited suicide last night. They are going to do an autopsy because a gun with a scratched off serial number was involved.
Please pray for all the family involved.
I am sooo sad- mostly because I worry for her soul now...
I don't understand how people do this.... It's the second time in three years this has happened in my family.....
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
    Proverbs 3:5

My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgements come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
    Isaiah 26:9

Praying for the spirit of suicide in your family to be utterly defeated. Praying for light and guidance and wisdom and healing and peace for your family.
Please pray for "the least of these" in the Persecuted Church Prayer Forum at top.

Acts 21 Now they have been informed about you that you continually teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn back from and forsake Moses...Therefore do just what we tell you. With us are 4 men who have taken a vow upon themselves. Take these men and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses [for a temple offering],...Thus everybody will know that there is no truth in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk in observance of the Law of Moses.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is very tragic. While i do believe that suicide is a sin, I do not consider it to be the "unforgivable sin". Hopefully a pastor will step in and explain this. The only unforgivable sin is rejecting Jesus Christ. Praying for you and your family.

    You are so right D.

While suicide is certainly a final sin, there is nothing to suggest that suicide is an unforgivable one. That is a left over from the Catholic Church. I buried one of my first members in January. She committed suicide on Christmas Day. We all fail and we all fall from time to time. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of our hope. Sometimes we do stupid things in moments of desperation. The bible says that when we do screw up, that we have an advocate with the Father and His name is Jesus Christ, who oddly enough, also knows how it feels to think that he has been abandoned by the Father.

While it is sad and tragic. Jesus understands the loneliness and feelings of abandonment that often leads one to suicide. Hebrews tells us that we do not have a high priest that is not touched by our struggles. I believe that He stands in the gap for us and is our advocate even when we commit a sin as final as suicide.

His love and his mercy endures so far and beyond anything we can imagine.
For what mortal has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of fire, as we have, and survived? ~ Deuteronomy 5:26

If you're not prepared to risk your very life for your "enemy" you have no right to speak to him of love. ~ Daughter

Many say they are called... but I am pretty convinced that with many of them it was the wrong number. ~ Project Peter

My brother in law commited suicide many years ago. I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for your family to feel the love and comfort of our heavenly father at this difficult time

    Sorry for your loss.....

    Modhat on:
Please refrain from posting that you're praying for the soul of the deceased. It is not allowed on here, it's a Catholic Doctrine that is not allowed on this Protestant board.

    God Bless.
I would rather be dead than spend one second without Daddy!

    Tayariswife, suicide

    So Sorry for your loss,

My younger brother has a brother in law that committed suicide and so did his father, we believe it is a generational curse that must be confronted and that the family needs to be delivered from the curse, and sometimes they go way back. God be with you and your family.

We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

May the Father just fill your family with Peace!

Praying that our Heavenly Father reach down and comfort you and your family in this time of grief....life is short enough and ever so valuable; however, we can't control another's mindset, we can't even control our own, without the Lord and HIS mercy, grace, and favor!! May the Lord bring all concerned through this with HIS MIGHTY GLORY AND HONOR in the FRONT of all else!! HE IS LORD!!! Our Father God is creator of Heaven and Earth and does know the end from the beginning!!! Thank YOU, Father for hearing and answering my prayers...May this situation glorify YOUR HOLY NAME!!! I pray all these things in Jesus' name! Amen

    God Bless

I am very sorry to hear of your loss, and I will pray for the family and loved ones to be comforted by the love of the Lord.
If the Book be not infallible, where shall we find infallibility? ... Are these correctors of Scriptures infallible? Is it certain that our Bibles are not right, but that the critics must be so? ... We shall gradually be so bedoubted and be criticized that only a few of the most profound will know what is Bible and what is not, and they will dictate to the rest of us. I have no more faith in their mercy than in their accuracy... and we are fully assured that our old English version of the Scriptures is sufficient for plain men for all purposes of life, salvation, and goodness. - C.H.Spurgeon
