Thread: Little worried.

  1. #61
I struggle daily my friends. I don't know what is going on but I am struggling so hard with doubt.

I watched some Paul Washer stuff (which kind of got me freaked out in the first place) and I am always worried if I've been 'born again' because it seems like such a supernatural experience and I don't know if I've ever had it.

Please pray for me and pray that God will lead me to assurance.

The only requirement God gave to be born again was to confess our sins and accept Jesus as our Saviour. That's it. I don't know of any scripture that says we have to have a supernatural experience to prove we are saved. Please don't go by feeling. Keep going to the word when you struggle and proving Satan's a liar.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We must believe the Lord has saved us.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Right but some people claim it's like a physical and spiritual jolt that happens and they are never the same again.

That has never happened to me. I've been calling out to God for weeks. I've wept over my sin and repented and cried and worried myself sick and I just don't know why He won't answer me.

    Please pray for me.

Not everyone has an amazing supernatural experience and guess what? That's OK!

Satan wants you to think that something's wrong. He wants you to fixate and worry. Don't. Believe God's Word.

    Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

God said it. I believe it. That settles it.

Ok. I am in despair right now. I have literally been crying for 3 weeks straight, thinking that I am not saved. I want to be and I want to forsake my sin. And I want a REAL PERSONAL relationship with God.

I also don't want to ASSUME I do, and deceive myself. And that's where I get caught up.

I have been very depressed lately because of all this. Sometimes I think I am losing my mind.

For anyone who knows Paul Washer I think He means well and I agree with a lot of what he says but his preaching has destroyed me.

Also a lot of what people have said about some Christians going to hell and whatnot.

Please everyone keep praying for me. I will just be trusting God and what He says. I DO Jesus is the Son of God and I DO believe God raised Him from the dead. I want to KNOW Him now.

Johnnie, stop listening to men, and get back into God's word.

Men are sinful, they make mistakes. God does not.

I will pray for you to have assurance of salvation, though.
If the Book be not infallible, where shall we find infallibility? ... Are these correctors of Scriptures infallible? Is it certain that our Bibles are not right, but that the critics must be so? ... We shall gradually be so bedoubted and be criticized that only a few of the most profound will know what is Bible and what is not, and they will dictate to the rest of us. I have no more faith in their mercy than in their accuracy... and we are fully assured that our old English version of the Scriptures is sufficient for plain men for all purposes of life, salvation, and goodness. - C.H.Spurgeon

One of the things I have learned is that whenever I am doing the Lord's will, satan will make every effort to stop me. Therefore, it is important to put on the armor of God as indicated in Ephesians 6 so that the fiery darts of the evil one cannot get to me. I also plead the protection of the blood of Christ upon me and my family as well as all the Lord has provided for me. When i remember to do these before and/or after I give my testimony, teach a bible study, disciple or mentor someone, intercede or anything else the Lord leads me to do, I find less attacks get through to impact me.
