Any musicians here? What do you play? Do you play at church?

Since I got a lot of time on my hands,I play a lot. I play a guitar,a little mandolin, resonator, and bass. I play bass at our church, until I can find somebody else, then I'll play guitar again.I was influenced by late 60's and 70's rock music, like the Beatles,Eric Clapton,Jimi Hendrix, and later by Stevie Ray Vaughn.Lately I've been listening to bluegrass gospel, when I can.We used to have a Southern Gospel radio station, but I think it's no longer there. We have a Contempary Christian radio station, but it's too much la di da and play the same stuff over and over.Anyway, what do you all play?

I play drums in our worship group at church. Like the OP, music from the late sixties and early seventies was my influence and the first drummers that I liked was Ginger Baker and Ringo Starr, and groups like the Beatles and too many groups to list. I also liked John Bonham of Led Zepplin, drummers today are still trying to copy what he used to do. There are some really great drummers out there now, like Dave Weckl, Randy Van Patten. But all that aside, I now listen to only contemporary Christian, I also like Bluegrass gospel. I don't worry so much about trying to mimmic those drummers these days. I just do my part in the group and the whole end result should be to get the congragation up and praising Him.

I play several instruments (none very expertly). Most of them are folk instruments. I used to play my guitar and/or bass guitar in church but not currently. I am heavily involved in the music program as a vocalist. I sing in the choir and praise team as well as do solos and ensembles.

I play guitar, flute and trumpet, all with total excellence and pleasure to my neighbours ,lol .
I no longer play in church but in my youth used to give recitals for charities, when I was learning transposition and composition I used to arrange Hymns for concert band and orchestra. I now teach a little ,.
