    Define A Christian Nation(A Spin-off Thread)

As a spin-off from Jeffinators CN thread, please define what you think would constitute 'a Christian nation'. If you could give examples/details on how one might be implemented, and maybe paint a verbal picture of what you think it would look like, that would also be very helpful.

    Thanks.

I would say that Deuteronomy 4:5-6 is an example of what a nation should do.

"Behold. I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it."
"Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."

later came the church days - and - go forth and preach the Gospel

The USA was formed by men who were Christians and our form of government comes from the Bible.
We have 3 branches of government which are symbolic of the Trinity and also we have 12 people sitting in judgement during a trial in a court of law. This comes from 12 tribes and 12 disciples in the Bible.
Notice they did not put 11 or 13 on a jury but 12.[ I realize there is an alternate 13th but does only become a judge to replace one of the 12 ]
Mathias was picked to replace Judas in the book of Acts.

The USA as a whole today does not live like a Christian nation. We are like Israel of the O/T who had the oracles of God and were in covenant with God but refused to live by the covenant.
In my own state of Oklahoma we have a "church house" almost on every corner but also have one of the highest divorce rates in the country. The murder rate for this year in Tulsa is increased by about 40 %
This ought not to be so in a Christian nation.

The USA is very "religious" nation as was Israel in the time that Jesus walked on the earth in His flesh body but they did not know Jesus or receive Him.
