Paid off 6 credit cards since Sept of 2008!

We've been without credit cards for over 10 years now. It's nice not to have that burden.

Hooray for you! I wish I was totally over with them. I have been reading and hearing lately of horror stories as to how the companies are treating people sometimes. I'm praying to get out of debt as soon as I can. The way it is now, it will take time, but I have set goals and so far am on schedule. As I clear out cards, I apply extra to the next card to go.

Thanks for your praises to the Lord and I add some of my own to Him! I'm still working on this debt in my life. Thanks for the hug. I'm just praying none of the companies change their rules as I work on it. I saw comments people are saying as to that their limits are lowered and cards closed, even though they have good standing as to paying their bills on time. Some are suing the companies for ruining their credit scores. Some comment that their cards are being unfairly changed because of where they live or where they shop.
I just keep on praying now a lot about this and hurry to get rid of them all.

paid them off not too long ago...only charge it if i can pay it off, or it's an emergency....

Hi to you! I'm terribly sorry that I never replied to you, I just knew you asked me this about Dave Ramsey. I don't know the guy, so I will see what he has for advice.

I hope to say that some day. The card that I'm paying off now, I think I have paid it off twice over the years already. This time it has to go! I have a couple of things that bill on it each month, so they will have to become bills sent to me directly.
The card that I paid off right before this one, sent me a letter a few days ago letting me know that they now have changed the due date making it further out as to allowing people more time to pay. When I had it, they moved my due date up or tried to at least twice and then that is when I ditched the card. I did get a good laugh from their letter though. Another one (paid off) sent me a bit back this type of message - Is it true, or did we make a mistake - Did you actually cancel your card with us?

Being debt free is wonderful, like the millstone is gone from around our necks! You should check out Dave, he's absolutely great! Get his book "Total Money Makeover", it'll change how you look at money for the rest of your life!
