    Favourite/least favourite things about Summer...

I figured a thread on this might be fun!

Everyone, please post your favourite and your least favourite thing about summer!

My favourite thing: sitting out on the deck with my cat, a coffee and my laptop (or a good book) in the evenings.... a bit of a breeze, very warm air, the sun going down.... perfect.

My least favourite thing: all the creepy crawly bugs! Yuck!

Go figure, you dislike muggy heat, but like the sharp heat from a bonfire!

Kitty done had too much Kaffine...

Cons - Flies harass my horse non-stop and the sweltering heat.

Pro - I feel better in the summer months.

Least favorite things: (the list is too long, so I'll just name a few),

    • trying to keep the kids semi-productive as they're home all day long
    • cabin fever... survived the winter version in Minnesota, now dealing with the summer version here
    • the heat
    • the fact that we become a ghost town as those who can afford to leave for the summer do - I would too if I could (dreams wistfully about a summer home where it stays in the 70's all summer long)!

    Favorite thing: It ends .

When I was a kid, I only ever uttered that phrase once. All day long. I drove my folks nuts. FINALLY.... after hearing me whine for a while... my mom replied with "Oh, you're bored? GREAT!" and gave me so many chores that day, that when I was done them, it was 11 pm, I was wiped out, every window in the house was washed, every cupboard was cleaned out and organized, the car was washed, muffins were baked, and the lawn was mowed.

"I'm bored" is the deadliest phrase a kid can utter.

You can tell yours for me that I said so.

LOL @ CoffeeCat. I always tell my kids, "If you're smart enough to be bored, you're smart enough to figure out something to do!"

Dislike: Today, it was 106 here. 'Nuff said

Amen to the refreshing foods! Berries... yum!

I don't know what the breeze thing feels like -- my room doesn't have a window that opens. The best I can do is to aim a fan at my bed.

I like the way your mom thinks!
I always leave them with a chore list--but soft touch that I am, their chores only take 30 mins tops.
