Please pray for my girlfriend

My girlfriend has trouble praying in front of people. She grew up with a very religious judgmental background and being the new Christian that she is, she is still having a hard time praying aloud to God before others, even if it's just us two. She's afraid of saying the wrong things, and she tells me "your prayers are so wonderful and perfect, and I always like you to pray". I've let her know that the words don't matter as much as the heart, so an honest "thank you Lord" is better to Him than a flowery speech. She's still afraid so I ask that you pray for this, that she may receive boldness and encouragement.

We are a couple and we are a couple under God. We both love Jesus, and I think it's powerful when couples pray together. Pray also that the enemy would be rebuked by our risen Lord Jesus and he would quit meddling.

that, in time, your girlfriend will become relaxed about praying aloud with others.

In the meantime, I suggest that when you are both praying together you limit yourself to one sentence prayers so that she doesn't feel intimidated; also you might suggest that she writes down a prayer in advance then reads it - it will still be her heartfelt prayer, but may be less intimidating for her. Whatever you do, don't try to force her in any way, if she agrees with, says 'amen' (aloud), to the prayers you vocalise that's ok - for the time being at any rate. . .

It is so neat that you are praying together. Praying that your girlfriend's mouth will be opened by the Holy Spirit and be led of Him in prayer. Praying she will trust Him, not herself, and learn that it is not the form, the pretty words, that YHWH really cares about at all, but the heart behind the prayers.
