Chapter 20 requires info from chapter 19!

At the start of chapter 19 what happens? We get a new story. John begins a new section to us.

19:1
"And after these things I heard..."

Chapter 18 must be split away from chapter 19's new story.

Chapter 16 is when John begins to reveal to us what was in the little open book that he ate in chapter 10.

the end of Rev. 11

Rev. 11 gives him the info to show that another set of plagues is about to begin. That set will end with great hail.

Rev. 10:10
"And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it..."

"...Thou must prophesy again..."

and he does that - with the start of chapter 16

chapter 22
"...Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book..."

So the "little book" story begins with chapter 16 and continues to the end of chapter 22. John sees it revealed in sections.

Once we get to chapter 19, a new story begins and continues right into chapter 22.
Notice that Rev. 20 has "they sat". You must let this "they" group that sits be found first in chapter 19.

Rev. 19:19
"...against his army."

"...they sat..." = God's army from the battle begins to take their seats to reign.

I'll use chapter 15 as an example of what to do for chapter 20.

15:3
"...they sing..."
Who does?
We have to look ahead of this verse and then we find our clue to who they are.

v 2
"...them that had gotten the victory over the beast..."
"they sing"

Rev. 20:4
"...they sat..."
19:19
"...his army."
But notice that armies came down from heaven in 19:14, yet only one takes on the beast for the chapter 19 battle.
Why is that?
Because we just saw that some saints will already have won against the beast.

So 2 armies in chapter 19 leave heaven.

1 - the already won against the beast saints
2 - the had yet to win victory over the beast saints

then in chapter 20 - all of them will get to reign with Christ
first - the army of saints from the chapter 19 battle will get seated on thones,
then they will be joined by the army that had already gained victory before the battle time

Don't forget that you are watching a new sequence of events start with Rev. 19:1.

19:1 is not meant to link up with the end of the story that finishes at 18:24.


18:24
"And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."
(Jeremiah 51:49 "As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to falll, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth."

"...spoken against this place..."
Babylon is only one specific location as Jeremiah saw it.

"...cast it into the Euphrates."

This chapter now opens at about the time of the rapture - because Salvation is said.
"...Salvation..."
(Hebrews 9:28) "...look for him he shall appear...unto salvation."
(1 Thess. 5:9) For God hath not appointed us to wrath...but to obtain salvation..."
