Thanks for mentioning this, friend! I hadn't heard of the movement in about 8 or 9 years, but I figured it was still alive and causing massive damage to the cause of Christ and the mercy of God.

Over 50 years ago, Paul Cain, William Branam and others introduced Latter Rain/Manifest Sons of God teachings into the Pentecostal movement. But in 1949 the Assemblies of God officially rejected the Latter Rain/ Manifest Sons of God doctrine as heresy. The cult went underground but surfaced again in the 1960's as the Manchild Company. Disregarding the Assemblies of God decision, Paul Cain, the Kansas City Prophets and Vineyard Ministries have subsequently reintroduced and successfully established this false doctrine in the Pentecostal churches.

There are hoards of so-called, self-appointed 'Prophets and Prophetess' in this movement, but you have to be careful whose teachings you sit under! Keep in mind that even the wicked Jezebel called herself a 'Prophetess' according to Revelation 2:18-24. Just consider this:

    18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

Now, look. Close scrutiny of verse 24 says, and think about this...
Jesus said here there IS a DOCTRINE OF JEZEBEL! What would that be?

I offer since Christ Jesus here said that doctrine, and the DEPTHS OF SATAN can be known as they speak, the depths of satan are these things:

1- I will ascend into heaven,

2- I will exalt my throne above the stars of God,

3- I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, (above the congregation!)

4- I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,

5- I will be like the most High!

It was this kind of thinking (and perhaps teaching, since he caused 1/3 of the angels to revolt with him!) that caused satan to be cast out of heaven.

In this movement can be found the likes of Todd Bently, Peter Wagner, Cindy Jacobs, the now-fallen-Paul Cain, and others who it would be best to stay away from. Just do a little research on Joel's Army or the Latter Rain Movement and from these, you'll find out many others and what heresy they promote.

Don't get caught up in any of this.
    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

I'm not going to get caught up in any of this mess ... I left the Vineyard years ago, which caused serious problems in my family. My x is still caught up with Word Faith, Vineyard, and all kinds of weird stuff .... She told me that if I would obey her pastor and do what he says, and give her all my money, she would give me all the sex that I wanted, anytime .... !!!

It was Cindy Jacobs who started it....she was the founder and if I remember correctly, she was the General.

Yes, Jezebel (or her doctrine!) is very much alive today.

Is Cindy Jacobs still involved with Joel's Army? Seems like I remember something about here ... being involved with Todd Bentley, doing some weird stuff, like head shaking and prophesying .... ???

    Cindy Jacobs - False Prophet

Looks like Cindy Jacobs is another one of the many false prophets:

    ...and 'drunk in the spirit'...

And I'm talking about staggering like one high as a kite, and slurred words, and mocking scripture...in like, can't even read a scripture sanely for giggling and then going into fits of laughter, and not even finishing the verse! Making a laughing mockery of trying to read a scripture.

I actually SAW her acting this way once. I had been invited by a friend several years ago, but talked my friend into leaving to take me out of there! Cindy Jacobs had just become the General a short time before that.

Oh, and by the way, I heard soon after that about some of her so-called prophecies that never came about. So apparantly she only 'called herself a prophetess'!

I think that was Stacy Campbell with the head shaking act, not Cindy Jacobs. Does CJ do the shaking act too ???

I've seen that video before ...

Amazing that so many people will fall for the counterfeit ....

While I agree with the concern expressed in #1 I strongly caution anyone from adopting a position that conducting intercessory prayer for a city or a nation is worthless.

    I have seen it work.

That being said I am against a "dominionist" position that is based on some word of faith heresy.

However, I have seen to much in the Spirit realm to throw all supernatural intervention by God under a heading of "witchcraft"
( this is in response to the youtube link that was posted)

I would agree that praying for a city or a country is not worthless. The Bible even tells us to pray for our leaders, and be obedient to them. However, as Christians, dedicated to the Living God, we should know that there is a fine line, where we may at times need to be disobedient ...

The problem I've seen with some churches, is that they go to the extreme, and wrongly interpret the scriptures, misapply the scriptures, and claim things that are not true ...

I've been involved with churches that walk around the town, actually claiming the very bricks! I think that is extemism ....

Wickedness will abound, that is guarenteed, and we can nothing to stop what the Bible says will happen.

I agree. There is far too many alarmist stuff on YouTube. We need to hear from the horse's mouth--in other words--find the source of this movement.

So far it seems to be a teaching that equips people, and kids too, for spiritual warfare--donning one's spiritual armour and standing one's ground against the enemy.

    We are in a battle.
