    Ready To Share The Gospel

Ok, well I have a very good friend who thanks to God is really eager about him and wants to learn more & together we want to grow in Christ BUT she feels that she : "has to be more ready and know more about herself before she can tell other people about Christ."

How can I tell her this is wrong? I hear all over the world that you don't have to be a "certain" ready to save people to Christ but what are some scriptures & examples I can use to show her this?
I have this one : 1 Corinthians 1:21 "...it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe."

    what are more? or examples?

-by the way I know it does help to have knowledge of God to speak to people about him because people ask a lot of questions. so I guess it does help to be ready in that sense. but still.

I can relate to your friend's situation & being "new".
It's hard to know when you'll feel "ready" to talk to people.

I was always shy, so it was really hard for me at first.... but out of the blue I was presented with an opportunity to share the gosple, and answer a couple questions. It just worked out.... The couple questions he asked, I was able to answer.

It was quite a pleasant surprise for me!

Just be there to support her, & help her along.
Her time will come before she knows it!
Hebrews 11:1 Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

You are going to be hard pressed for a scripture that says she is wrong since she isn't wrong. I wish more people would be better prepared for evangelism before they do it. I have spent a great deal of my ministry helping people to be better prepared for it. How long did Paul wait? I think you will be surprised by the answer.
For what mortal has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of fire, as we have, and survived? ~ Deuteronomy 5:26

If you're not prepared to risk your very life for your "enemy" you have no right to speak to him of love. ~ Daughter

Many say they are called... but I am pretty convinced that with many of them it was the wrong number. ~ Project Peter

There is nothing wrong with sharing a personal testimony of how the Lord saved you. You do not need to be a theologan to tell others what the Lord has done for you.

1 Pet 3:15 ...Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

My friend who does ministry to the lost often visits apologetics websites. this is to equip her with knowledge in order to face other questions that may be asked.

I think what your friend suggested is true about knowing some details but you can always tell the new person you're sharing the gospel that you will get back to them on certain questions they asked. This will help you have time to research better to obtain the answers, thus you learn better.

I visit CARM website more often to learn. Try it.

1 Peter 3:15 reminds us to "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect"

In many cases, the reason for the hope that we have is that Christ restored us when we were broken. Studying scripture is very importanant, especially when we are baby chirstians and need to move on to solid food. But, the evidence and the proof of God's existence is and has always been the covenant relationship with God and the relationship we build with him.
It will always be a matter of the Heart. A testimony that moves you towards Christ will probably not be anything other than, Here's where I was before, here's where I cried out his name. Here's where he lifted me out of the wilderness and restored me. He, his love and his faithfulness are the reasons for the hope that I have within me. Understanding the Narrative of the Bible shows us where we were and here we are going and shows us the same God since the beginning of time.
Changed lives and answered prayers are the evidence that many people are looking for in their own lives.

Wow! Your friend and I are in the same boat! I am so shy and nervous to share the Gospel. Even at times when I just want to scream it, I keep it silent.
I feel like I'm not postitvely ready to go out and preach because I'm scared of offending anyone who doesn't agree with me. Also, i feel like I need to learn a whole lot more before and I maybe save someone.

Doesn't the Bible say the Holy Spirit guides us through all things. This would mean that any situation we encounter involving counseling, God is guiding all parties through and will have them take away from that encounter what He will. I think the key for your friend is her knowing and believing that God will use her for good no matter how much she stumbles over herself and through things.

It's all practice for the next time, and next times never expire with God.
