How did you meet your husband?

And how old were you when it happened? I'm 24 and I know people say that's still young and to be patient, lol... but I've seen so many friends and people at church my age that are already married and some have been for awhile... But I like to hear stories about how people met their significant others

I was 16 and he was 17, and we were teacher assistants in the same Algebra class.
We also sat together in Spanish 3 class.
I took him out on our first day, because I was the loser of a poetry/ song &contest between the two of us (he cheated ). The loser had to take the other one out to dinner.
He joined the Air Force after he graduated from High School and was stationed in Germany. We wrote letters to each other every day for a year---he was in Germany, I was in California. We spoke sporadically on the phone (too expensive). He proposed over the phone to me, I accepted (of course ) and we got married in February after I graduated from HS. I was 18, he was 19. And that will be 21 years ago, this coming February.

My husbands older brother and my older brother were friends in school.

We had driven my brother to my (now) husband's house, to hang out with my husband's brother.

When we pulled into the driveway I spotted him, skinny, a crewcut and 11 years old (I was 10 years old). I took one look at him and asked my brother who that boy was. He said "that's Don, Paul's brother" to which I replied "I'm going to marry him someday", and I did, 10 years later.

We attended the same youth group and church for awhile, and he also took me to my Senior Prom. He was my best friend, and still is.

Hang in there.. God knows who's best for you!

I met my husband at a rural swimming pool when I was 16 and he was 21 and just out of the Army. We were friends for a long time and then married when I was 18 and he was 23.....35 years ago this week!

I met my husband here on the site...... we were both moderators and I didn't really notice him but we discovered that we were both poets and started to write poems to each other in pm's...... then I suggested we'd talk on Yahoo Messenger for a change, so we could talk more directly to each other...... and we did on my birthday....... and it appeared that we both were surprised that the other one wanted to talk, as we both looked up to each other....... 1 year later he proposed on Yahoo Messenger and a few months later he left everything in America and came to live with me in Europe........ that is 5 years ago and we are married five years in November...... we're planning on giving a small party then as we have both difficult diseases and 5 years is a whole lot, especially for me....... so I'm really looking forward to that!

    Love you,
    Mieke

My husband and I met online when I was 28 and he was 33. We were married 6 months later and have been married 10 years.

Pretty interesting how some of you met online.

Of course the internet didn't exist when we were kids (in the stone age).

    Happy Anniversary Momof5!

Well I don't know about a party, but we were thinking of going away somewhere special. We tossed around the idea of a cruise but I get motion sickness, so I don't know if I'd be able to handle that, without dramamine and with my medications (for diabetes) I don't even know if I could take anything.

Yeah that doesn't sound too good...... if I were you, I'd go to some tropical bounty island..... there are plenty of those...... Just saw an add of a tropical place at Lake Tahoe...... looks wonderful there! And it's looking smashing in the winter too! Or maybe something like the Bahama's or Jamaica......
I wish I could take Charles on trainrides through the country to show him around in the Netherlands...... Sounds like bliss to me!
