    The Family Tree of the Human Race - Reveals Christ!

    Genesis 5: All names meshed, speak of the Christ!

    Adam = man
    Seth
    = appointed
    Enosh = mortal
    Cainan = sorrowful
    Mahalalel = the blessed God
    Jared = shall come down
    Enoch = teaching
    Methuselah = His death shall bring judgment
    Lamech = despairing
    Noah = rest, comfort.

    Man is appointed, mortal and sorrowful but the blessed God shall come down, teaching that His death shall bring judgment to the despairing and bring rest and comfort.

    Genesis 5

    The Family Tree of the Human Race

    1-2 This is the family tree of the human race: When God created the human race, he made it godlike, with a nature akin to God. He created both male and female and blessed them, the whole human race.

    3-5 When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son who was just like him, his very spirit and image, and named him Seth. After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, having more sons and daughters. Adam lived a total of 930 years. And he died.

    6-8 When Seth was 105 years old, he had Enosh. After Seth had Enosh, he lived another 807 years, having more sons and daughters. Seth lived a total of 912 years. And he died.

    9-11 When Enosh was ninety years old, he had Kenan. After he had Kenan, he lived another 815 years, having more sons and daughters. Enosh lived a total of 905 years. And he died.

    12-14 When Kenan was seventy years old, he had Mahalalel. After he had Mahalalel, he lived another 840 years, having more sons and daughters. Kenan lived a total of 910 years. And he died.

    15-17 When Mahalalel was sixty-five years old, he had Jared. After he had Jared, he lived another 830 years, having more sons and daughters. Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years. And he died.

    18-20 When Jared was 162 years old, he had Enoch. After he had Enoch, he lived another 800 years, having more sons and daughters. Jared lived a total of 962 years. And he died.

    21-23 When Enoch was sixty-five years old, he had Methuselah. Enoch walked steadily with God. After he had Methuselah, he lived another 300 years, having more sons and daughters. Enoch lived a total of 365 years.

    24 Enoch walked steadily with God. And then one day he was simply gone: God took him.

    25-27 When Methuselah was 187 years old, he had Lamech. After he had Lamech, he lived another 782 years. Methuselah lived a total of 969 years. And he died.

    28-31 When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son. He named him Noah, saying, "This one will give us a break from the hard work of farming the ground that God cursed." After Lamech had Noah, he lived another 595 years, having more sons and daughters. Lamech lived a total of 777 years. And he died.

    32 When Noah was 500 years old, he had Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

    I gather that you got this from Chuck Missler? In any case, you would do well to look up the meanings of these names, for they are NOT what Missler says they are.

    Please read this to be informed:

    I didn't get it from chuck Missler, but the person I got it from may have--I don't know. I think it is awesome!

    Fiction certainly can be awesome, but not when it involves distorting God's word.

    Haha! I have the gospel message and it is iterated in the OT without this kind of interesting find!

    There is no distortion going on. The message is there nonetheless.

    Despereaux,

    I'm just pointing out that the message is not contained in those names. That was just poor scholarship on Missler's part, and such false ideas should be abandoned. God bless you.

    I think that the message is still there. I was blessed by it and there is no danger in being led astray from this.

    You still think the message is there in the names, yet no lexicon supports this. There certainly is a danger in letting wishful thinking get in the way of the facts. But I won't press the issue.

    There is no wishful thinking involved. This is someone's interesting view, having researched meanings of names...many names have several meanings.

    The facts that are important is that the message that is derived is the very TRUTH.

    So, your beef is moot.

    Of course the message itself is true, but this is not the issue. Some of the meanings that Missler lists are simply not factual! Research it yourself (you can start by reading the article I linked to). Such poor scholarship on Missler's part and such uncritical acceptance of Missler's assertions by a good number of Christians is contrary to Christian integrity, and quite frankly makes us look bad. We are to love the truth and to resist that which is false. It is because I love the gospel truth that I must expose and resist the false information that Missler propagated.

    I took a gander and didn't see too much that was terribly off. As I said, there are different meanings for the same name and also, many root words for the same names.

    There is integrity in his findings.

    Perry Stone (from Voice of Evangelism and his show "Manna-Fest") also demonstrated this.

    Can you elaborate, please? What is it he demonstrates?

    What Missler does is he picks and chooses one of many possible meanings of these roots, and then transfers these possible meanings to the actual names (an example of the root fallacy). He then transfers one of various meanings of these names (some meanings which were never heard of before Missler wrote this) in a similar selective fashion in order to get the sloppy message that he arrives at. This is dishonest of him.

    I don't believe that.
