If the Bible is the true source of God's words, then the Koran is what? There is only one God and one true words from him. So is it the Bible or Koran? I just want to know.

That depends on who you ask then, doesn't it?

A true-to-blood Muslim will of course tell you that the Koran is God's word and that the Bible is inconsistent and is just some story book, cetainly not of God.

As a born-again Christian, I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the truth by which other statements are measured, and is the Book by which other books are measured.

Of course, based on that I also believe that anywhere the Bible and the Koran differ, the Bible is correct and the Koran isn't.

    Hey republic15,
Are you asking why I as a Christian recognize the bible as God's true word or more looking for an historical argument for it's accuracy? The simple answer is that the bible has never lied to me.

with their lips then walk out the door and deny
Him by their lifestyles. That is what

You are right, they are mutually exclusive, and if you dig deeper into both the Bible and the Quran you will see, very clearly, which is the word of God and which reflects the tribal prejudices of 7th century Arabia . But then again you are asking someone who is Christian and has extensive scholarly knowledge of Islam, so I'm a little bit partial to the Bible myself.

I want to ask because the Bible and the Koran are the biggest relied upon holy books. Either one has to be right since there is only ONE God. It would be good to see which people will be in Heaven or Hell. What would happen to a true Muslim after he die?

The "true muslim" will be just like mohammed.

The true Christian will be just like Christ. He will live eternally. Christ rose bodily from the grave. Mohammed did not. Nor Buddah.

Christ is the only One who promises eternal life and has shown Himself as living proof of His promise.

    For the cause of Christ

Well, you're right; only one can be correct as they are in parts diametrically opposed in key doctrinal areas:

and both faiths exclude the followers of other's salvation:

Listen republic15, the truth is that you could sit a very knowledgeable Christian and Muslim down with each other and the resultant conversation would make your brain hurt! There are folks who need to make that sort of intellectual investigation in their walk and if that's you then that's totally cool. If it's the sort of thing you want believe me there are super knowledgeable folks here who will engage you in that sort of academic discussions. There is also a ton of stuff on the internet (e.g. CARM's page on Islam) that you can look at. I'm gonna tell you what though; they all could be wrong. Any one you talk to here could be wrong. Any Muslim you talk to could be wrong. I could be wrong, because I'm just a guy. All those people are just guys (and girls, sorry ladies) - human. Fallible. Subject to temptation and able to be fooled by the dark one. No matter how brainy, they seem, these are just folks talking to you and you should never take the words of just one person as fact, when it comes to your salvation. The bible tells us to test everything:

it also says that we are to make up our own minds about such things:

I truly believe in my heart that the bible is the true word of God because of the difference that it has made in my own life and the life of others who have accepted Jesus' sacrifice for them. As I said before, it's never lied to me and the truth of it's words are evidenced every day to me in my own life. Certainly seek information during your walk. Ask questions. Don't ever be afraid of searching for the truth - no matter what anyone tells you, but know that in the end this is a decision which is made in your heart. May the Lord Jesus help you to find him during your walk and to know that He has always been right there next to you.

... The question you have asked is a good one and it deserves a little research. In checking on Jesus we find that first hand observers witnessed Him performing miracles, even to the point of restoring the dead to life. If we check on Muhammad's history we find that he prophesied exactly one self fulfilling prophecy. If we research the life of Jesus the only bad marks against Him are undocumented innuendo but when we do research on Islam's prophet we find that he was a known pedophile that murdered, robbed and incited others to follow him in these activities.
... It all boils down to this, "Will you choose to follow a murdering, stealing, pedophile that never proved anything or will you follow Jesus, the man that proved His ability to work the works of the Father and then died to pay the debt for your sin?
    I chose Jesus!

Wow! This is a huge decision someone to make if they are presented the option of Chrisitianity or Islam. I live in Los Angeles so my tendency is toward praying to Jesus since some people have talked to me about it and I've read the Campus Crusade booklet. Wow too to the over 1 Billion Muslims in this world for what they're believing in. I wonder if they will go to Heaven or Hell (according to you they will go to Hell). And to make matter worse, some Muslims have beaten, maimed and even beheaded some Christians. Wow! is all I can say about this sad world.

The Holy Bible origins begins 6,000 yrs ago. Our writtens were documenting events as they happened.

the qu'ran origins begins 700 years ago. Their writers are basing events from The Holy Bible.

We know very well it depends who is asked. But after that there are other´s who are progressive, that are of an all inclusive belief, and say that it is the same God. But this could not be so, because then some one is lying. So we all end up with one or the other. We Christians will believe Christ, and the Muslims will believe their guy.
And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

When I first studied the Koran, I was not a Christian. I was agnostic at best, thinking that there probably was a God, but it might not make any difference. My assumption when I started my study was that any religion, even a false one, would be based around the idea of love and peace.

What I found in the Koran was stunning. It was not peace and love. It was hate and enmity to all who didn’t believe. It was an ideology that appealed to the most base and barbaric instincts of Man. Allah sanctions raiding caravans for booty and slaves, even sex slaves. Allah criticizes Muhammad for not fighting enough and urges him on.

Paradise is designed for a man’s entertainment, with virgins and boys of perpetual youth. Women are treated like property. Allah wasn’t too particular about who ended up in paradise. Your good deeds are weighed against your bad; there is no forgiveness. It appeals particularly to young men of military age and encourages bravery and fanaticism in battle. Allah is not about your soul, but about the State, about world domination.

This could not be of God! So I started reading the Bible. Here I find a message of joy, peace, forgiveness and grace. I am told to love my enemies and love others. Forgive those who trespass against me. Treat others equally.

I began to see the message of Jesus was not a message of human origin. These truths do not come naturally to humans. Much as we like to say them, we tend toward the opposite. In contrast the message of Muhammad was a message that comes from the darkest corners of humanity. Jesus lifts us out of these dark corners and shows us a better way.

...Planned opposition? That's just a guess on my part, based on several scriptures.

One says that the sons of Ishmael are destined to be the servants of God's People.

Another says the heathen, and those from Egypt will come to Jerusalem to give sacrifices to God.

And this one says Ishmael will be against every man:

GEN 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
GEN 16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

No other book has Prophecy Fulfilled and Miracles like the Bible. It is the True Words Of God.
GAL 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

As opposed to the bad man that does nothing?

Some GREAT Christians had done the same too. Paul comes to mind and he wrote 2/3 of the NT. His forgiveness is AWESOME!!!
