they probably robbed somebody else afterwards

A better story I heard a week or so ago was when prisoners came to the aid of one of the guards who was attacked by a fellow prisoner.

The question is, did they really give the wallet back out of RESPECT... or out of FEAR?

I sure wouldn't want a military person angry at me if I could at all help it.

So was the thief on the cross, and he's in paradise with the Christ, And I am no better.

These guys fear nothing, that's why they do what they do.
If Satan can keep us busy swinging our swords at one another, there is no hope of a united attack on the kingdom of darkness. KJV, NIV, ESV or ABCDEFG; there is no time to bicker over such things. We'll devour each other if allowed to continue. We should grab the marching orders written in the way we best understand and get to work.

That actually happens pretty regularly in the county jails and is even true to an extent in the prisons. If you treat the inmates right, they will treat you right. I have arrested hundreds and hundreds of people in my career as a law enforcement officer. Only one of them hates me. The reason he hates me is because we were friends in school and he thiks because of that I should not have arrested him. Other than that, people do not have ill will toward me personally. Even a few who tried to kill me later apologized. They apologized after sentencing, so it was sincere and not just something to try to impress the judge.

This situation is just weird. If they can be respectful to somebody in the military, then why not just be respectful and civil to anybody they come in contact with? They've shown that they have the potential to be decent people. Why not just go full bore with it? I mean, why do they respect just the military so much? Because the armed forces keep America free for criminals to rob and steal in peace or something?

I bet you need to dig deeper on the story, for example I think the robbers needed money (obviously), so they robbed him but after finding he was in the military he quickly changed his tone, so if the robbers were willing to kill a man for his money, it's not out of fear that they gave it back, my thought would be that maybe one of the robbers parent friend or family member was in the army and possibly died, idk, just a guess.
Every temptation is of the devil, and every sin leads to death.
