Great Version Of The Bible For Daughters - The Genderless God Bible

There is a version called The Genderless God Bible. My teenage daughters love it! They are very aware at this age of issues regarding
the empowerment of women. They read it much more now than they did
the regular KJV. I recommend it highly.

    So Noah wasn't a man?

    Mary wasn't a woman?

The Roman Ceasar's mentioned in the N.T. were all females?

Sorry....I don't understand the point of someone purposefully editting out the genders from the Bible; and then publishing it.

Genders do and did exist; so why attempt to act as if they didn't?

How does denoting gender either weaken or empowers women (or men)?

Jesus constantly refers to God as "Father". Does this Bible change this? If so, it is a dishonest translation.

    Gen 1:27
    (27) So God created humankind in his own image; in the image of God he created him: male and female he created them.

    Gen 5:2
    (2) he created them male and female; he blessed them and called them Adam [humankind, man] on the day they were created.

That makes gender sacred, outside of our opinions. We are not to add or subtract from His Word.

    Hi David

Sadly, It is about God HIMSELF, being genderless

Sounds like New Age garbage to me.

Sounds like it will open the door for a genderless society, the gays and lesbians will love that. Another way satan will lie to the youth. What a tragedy.

... If I am wrong, excuse me, but it sounds very much like you have been influenced by the world around you instead of you influencing the world around you. Further-more it sounds like you are raising the next two presidents of the Radical Women's Movement.
... As a men's teacher I have a hard time from time to time getting men to read the Love Chapter (Eph. 5:18-33, 1Cor. 13) in context. In context, of course, means exactly that, in the context of the entire Bible. If we follow the scriptures we see that our LORD, Jesus, the Christ was a man and that the Church, male and female, are to be His Bride, not a great deal of difference between male and female, right?
... When we, carefully, read Eph. 5 we see that both the husband and the wife are to be in subjection, one to the other, each body belongs to their partner and not themselves. When we read further in chapter 5 we find that the woman is to carry the lighter load that the man, as it is illustrated through-out scripture, from Gen. 1:1 through the last Amen of the Revelation, is held accountable for everything that happens in his house. This spawning of hatred for men for any other purpose than breeding is very ungod-like. (For what other reason would we hope to reclassify the role God has portrayed Himself in?)
... I am very sorry you have wasted money on such a lying piece of work but at this point the best thing you can do is to burn these copies your young ladies possess and to purchase them a KJV, ASB, NASB, NLT or some other version of the Bible that does not seek to destroy the role that God, a.k.a. Jesus, has chosen to be seen in.
... May God come over you and bless you and your family without end.

I think this Bible is rather stupid for if it calls God 'Father', then it should be translated as Father, not something that's gender neutral. However, we do agree that God is indeed genderless, right?

From the website of the bible promoters:
" This is not a completely gender neutral bible, although there are some changes made in certain situations, the main thrust of the work is to focus specifically on God as genderless"

    Scary.

Of course, the Shack was bestselling "Christian" fiction.... so it would logically follow that there is an audience for this genderless God.

Why do some people have such a difficult time separating 'role' from 'essential nature?'

Look at Jesus - He is God, one with God, yet His role was in submission to the Father.

    Gen 2:24
    (24) Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Moses wrote man and woman are truely equal in essential nature (the word he used is "echad" which is the same word that describes God the Father and Jesus the Son - complex unity - one), yet have complimentary roles:

    Gen 2:18
    (18) And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."

Thank you for the wonderful thoughtful response. However, the book does not change anything regarding Jesus. Only God is made gender-neutral. Jesus is still a man. I myself find that while reading it, I also have a more spiritual feeling about God. My daughters are hardly radical, they are very sweet and more demure then assertive. I just prefer not exposing them to the concept of being a second class citizen. If God is portrayed as a man it can have that effect. And if they read the good book more instead of facebooking, I'm certainly for it. There's nothing "new-age" at all about the GGB. I think it is fabulous and will soon become very popular. You will be in my prayers. Thank you again.

Yeah you're right, Christians are christians for "popularity".

Another tragedy all in one thread.
