Acts 21:10-11 - Agabus' Prophecy About Paul

I've been searching for answers to the prophecy made by Agabus in Acts 21:10-11.

What is your understanding regarding this passage of scripture ... ???

Acts 21:10-11

10After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, 'In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.' "

Agabus is telling Paul that he will be arrested in Jerusalem.

Somebody on the forums was saying that Agabus was a false prophet, since he prophesied that the Jews would bind Paul, when the Romans actually bound Paul.

How would you explain this alleged Bible contradiction ... ???

Well, if you read Acts 24, Paul was imprisoned by the Romans because Jewish leaders brought charges against him. That's consistent with what Agabus said.

The Romans were the "binding" that the Jews used on Paul.

While it was the Romans who acted to arrest Paul, the prophet rightly points the finger on who was actually responsible for Paul's arrest and subsequent imprisonment.
