It's been over a year since i've hopped on these forums, but here is my latest. I don't write much anymore, but when I do i try to be more metaphorical than I used to be. Comments appreciated as always : )
From a dead sleep
I awake before dawn
Only to find myself intoxicated
From the wrong source of water
In it I drown, I am neck-deep
If I knew which way the shore was
I would swim
But the waves thunder with cause
To force me down under and away from him
The moon against me
The sun yet to rise
If hope is like a flower
Than I am truly alone
Nothing but water lies before my eyes
The winds overwhelming with despair
Are to me, unwelcomed company
Yet they do not yield their vile affair
Mermaids toss and turn beneath me
Angels of the water
Take me away
The sea they roam roars below
The seeping voice of an old friend
Parts paths in water to follow
This sea will not be your end
A triumphant chorus from the east
Pervades warmth into the royal sky
As light distills from mourning darkness
When Dawn awoke the morning
Morning awoke splendid light
Putting to rest poisoned night
Waking me from dead sleeping
