What does your last name mean?

I have a Polish last name, and it's one that you don't hear often. Knowing that a lot of first names has meanings,I've always wanted to know te meaning of our last name.My brother has looked it and the meaning was quite a shock. It means "Executioner". My mom told me that the other day, when I told her I bought a gun from the gun show. She said it's probably not a good idea to own a gun with a last name like ours.I told her if you're a hunter,it may be a good idea. What does your last name mean?

Wow I what my last name comes from. Here's what I got after Googleing "last name meaning":

French and English: from a medieval personal name (Latin Constans, genitive Constantis, meaning ‘steadfast’, ‘faithful’, present participle of the verb constare ‘stand fast’, ‘be consistent’). This was borne by an 8th-century Irish martyr. This surname has also absorbed some cases of surnames based on Constantius, a derivative of Constans, borne by a 2nd-century martyr, bishop of Perugia. Compare Constantine.

    The website I used: http://www.last-names.net/

I have a Roman last name,This ancient surname can be traced to southern Spain under Roman rule, 98 years before Jesus was born. General Vivio Pacieco was an ancestor of Lucio Viminio Pacieco, who served under Julius Caesar in Andalucí. Our origins date way back, it means "To Do Things" "To Be intimate" and That's as far as I'll go.

I'm guessing "Chesterfield". (no need to confirm )
It is only the cynic who claims “to speak the truth” at all times and in all places to all men in the same way, but who, in fact, displays nothing but a lifeless image of the truth… He dons the halo of the fanatical devotee of truth who can make no allowance for human weaknesses; but, in fact, he is destroying the living truth between men. He wounds shame, desecrates mystery, breaks confidence, betrays the community in which he lives, and laughs arrogantly at the devastation he has wrought and at the human weakness which “cannot bear the truth”. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, in Ethics.

My last name (of my husband) is a not so nice violent act but it can also be used in very cheerful circumstances.......

    First name: Warrior
    Middle name: Blessed guard
    Last name: Stinging

In a coherent form, my name may be interpreted as "Stinging warrior of the blessed guard".
