I resisted FB like the plague! My daughter had been telling me and her father that we HAD to get on FB for at least 2 years and I was like, whatever. This summer she just sat down and told us she was making an account for me and for my hubby. Within 2 days I got friend requested by 3 of my best girl friends from high school! We'd lost touch over the years and it was just so good to get in touch with them. I am so happy she got us into it. BTW, you don't HAVE TO post everyday. I have a friend that only gets on FB like once a month. You can check in as little or as much as you like. I post pictures of the kids and only my family and friends have access.
When we went down to Orlando in November we happened to post it on FB and got messaged from a really good friend in Miami. We told him to drive up and he actually did! We had a great time! We never would have specifically called him but that's how FB is. My daughter (she's 20) will post things like, "Who wants to go see Avatar?" or whatever and her friends who are available can organize the outing in a matter of minutes. I love it!
Ironically, many people would probably say the same negative things about people who spend a lot of time on an online message board! But we all know they'd be wrong about that, huh?
I believe I was wrong about my resistance to it at least for me. Of course, I can't speak for anyone else.
God Bless!

I tend to agree with you on that also. It is more of a concern to me for our children. I wonder what they are learning by the example of publishing whatever is on one's mind at any given time>? (no accusation that anyone here posts without discretion, but just raising the issue).
