Not on FB and never will.

FB is for narcissists. You have to be one to put so much emphasis in communicating to people about what your doing............... several times a day.

me either! none of these despite massive peer pressure. i do text message though. this is going to sound a bit "hermit like" but quite frankly, i don't want people to come find me! i am happy in the real life that i have and have been a witness to the facebook drama that can caused at work and among friends... in the real world...

No you don't. I post a brief comment once a day if that..most of the time I forget to write anything, just comment to other people's posts just like on here. Once in awhile if I am really bored I will do several updates but that doesn't happen to often.

I am currently watching this that one of our church members posted on facebook:

I am a dinosaur too and didn't feel I had time for facebook but after joining this church..as parents we were encouraged to sign up for it and become 'friends' on our kids accounts to keep an eye on them. The youth pastor is also friends with all of them and does keep watch over them. I get church youth group updates on there so I know what they youth are doing...the pastor posts on there...many church members. I belong to several Christian groups that I listen too on the Christian radio station. People can comment about whatever topic they have going on for that day...or not. I won't say I even begin to keep up with it.
"People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

Facebook has been a good way for our church members to interact with one another. Our church has a closed group...we can post prayer requests, events and such. For new members who are FBer's they can join and some have said it has made the transition of being in a new church and not knowing anyone easier when they befriend some of us who use FB. It can be a good tool if properly used.

That's a good idea...I wonder if I could talk my technologically-backwards pastor into letting me set up a facebook group for our church...

There is an old adage....It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

    Said, jokingly of course.

    Au contrare, mon ami.

My status nearly everyday is a bible verse.
Like Desperaux, I think of it as a tool to witness to friends who I have not seen in years who may not have a personal relationship with Christ.
I post many Christian youtube sermonettes. (sermon jams) and various devotions from Spurgeon, Tozer, etc.
I also subscribe to John Piper (Desiring God)'s daily updates and am blessed daily with links to articles and sermons.
I also use it to communicate with my friends who are involved in prison ministry with my husband and me.
Its a great way to keep in touch with friends and family who we are not able to see face to face on a frequent basis.
And, quite a few of my bibleforum friends are my friends on facebook.

I am on FB and have been for about 6 months or so. I like the fact that I have found people (and vice versa) that I haven't seen for years and have lost touch with. I am also into some of the games, like Farmville.

I enjoy it, but it's not for everyone (obviously).

Your patience with us all while you wait for us to figure that out is a true reflection of your humility.
