After freezing cold here we are on a warm up..yesterday was 18..today suppose to get to 36...
"People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

The difference is though...after I found myself in Pt Barrow Ak...I promised myself that when I left the service that I'd find someplace WARM.

Actually, the only thing that got my goat this morning was having to take a pitchfork and a rake and pick-up the garbage on the lawn of the church (we have bears here) at 0600. I should have been inside drinking coffee and looking outside at the wind bending the trees over.

I just got back from Orlando where it was freezing, and it's not much warmer here in Miami.

And I was praying during the snow storm we had at christmas that it would go down and bug Florida instead. But you just got the cold... : Something didn't go right.

But I can't say I feel sorry for ya since we had below zero temps this past week though. It could be worse. Instead of the temps now and chance of flurries, it could have been the 17-20 inches of snow we got here and the below zero tems we had this past week.

This was posted in the dorm bathrooms when in college. I'll post it for you. Its kind of funny.

    Cold Weather Behavior…

60 above zero: Floridians turn on the heat. Minnesotans plant gardens.

50 above zero: Californians shiver uncontrollably. People are sunbathing in Duluth.

40 above zero: Import cars won’t start. Minnesotans drive with the sunroof open.

32 above zero: Distilled water freezes. The water in Bemidji gets thicker.

20 above zero: New Mexicans don long johns, parkas and wool hats & mittens. Minnesotans throw on a flannel shirt.

15 above zero: New York landlords finally turn on the heat. People in Minnesota have one last cookout before it gets cold.

Zero: People in Miami all die. Minnesotans close the windows.

10 below zero: Californians fly away to Mexico Minnesotans dig their winter coats out of storage.

25 below zero: Hollywood disintegrates. Girl Scouts in Minnesota still selling cookies door to door.

40 below zero: Washington, D.C. finally runs out of hot air. People in Minnesota let their dogs sleep indoors.

100 below zero: Santa Claus abandons the North Pole. Minnesotans get upset because the Mini-Van won’t start.

460 below zero: ALL atomic motion stops (absolute zero on the Kelvin scale). People in Minnesota can be heard to say, “Cold ’nuff fer ya?”

500 below zero: Hell freezes over. Minnesota public schools open 2 hours late.

Not saying it gets 100 below zero here though... or that Minnesotans are that invincible

    That is so funny..

My pastor and his wife are currently in Florida ...freezing! the hotel they are in has no heaters! Cause they don't usually need them. They are leaving on a cruise soon though...I told them on facebook they need to go further south and hopefully hit some warm air...lol. (they are posting updates via cellphone on their about their adventures so far..lol).

Meanwhile its suppose to get 40 here in KS today and 50 by Wednesday! Everyone will be wearing shorts thinking its hot outside after enduring this terrible cold all last week...

    God bless
