What are you willing to die for? Now live for it!
I am a big cat person. I like dogs, too, but my husband being a huge cat lover has deepened my own love of the felines.
When we got married over 2 years ago, we each brought a cat into the marriage. He brought his boy cat Hoover (who looked kind of like Sylvester from Looney Tunes: long-haired black and white) and I brought my girl cat Neopolitan, or "Baby" (beautiful long-haired calico with big green eyes). Baby had never gotten along with any other cats, but she and Hoover were sitting together in front of the space heater within a week of living together. Hoover would groom her, too; it was very sweet.
We had to put Hoover to sleep in May 2008, and it absolutely broke our hearts. Remembering it is still enough to bring me to tears. Baby is 15 or 16 now and is still for the most part very healthy and active. It's going to be very heartbreaking when it's her time to go, too. I've had her since I was 9 or 10 and she is our little girl. She's the softest cat anyone who pets her has ever felt and sleeps with us and gives us kitty kisses (Hoover did this, too). The both of them have been more affectionate than any other pets we knew.
