I'm still new.
I wish someone would have told me that so many Christians would have absolutely no idea what is in their bible. For example. The concensus in my Old Testament class is that: "Abraham sacrificed Isaac because he read his Bible a lot and was closer to Christianity than most of us today. And that the people were used to Lordy walking amongst them and making requests and performing miracles like healing the blind." Besides my own, wildly different response, there has been one dissention opinion that: "Abraham was wrong to sacrifice Isaac because Jesus was crucified for our sins."
I wish someone would have let me know this, because it is very frustrating to go from here to there.
I wish someone would have told me that there are some people with some crazy ideas and that I should just learn to ignore them. Actually, people have told me, I'm just not listening very well.
The minstrel boy to the war is gone,
In the ranks of death ye will find him;
His father's sword he hath girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him;
"Land of Song!" said the warrior bard,
"Tho' all the world betray thee,
One sword, at least, thy rights shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!
