    Good (albeit random) Advice.....

I know alot of people here at bibleforums.org have got some really good advice on various and assundry topics. There are some smart people here, really smart, (yes, I'm talking to YOU) ....... so, let's hear it!

What's the best advice you've got? Is based on personal experience? Did you learn this lesson the hard way?

Here's mine for the day.....and yes, it IS based recent personal experience (and it was painful for quite a few weeks!)

Surprised? That's EXACTLY how I looked about five weeks ago when I decided that could trim my bangs all by myself and save a trip to the salon.

I've been trimming my own bangs for years and could do it in my sleep. And five weeks ago.......it looked like I did!!

Never attempt to ski through a revolving door.
1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.

Do not, under any circumstances, say that you'll never do something, live somewhere, or like someone.

Chances are, you'll look up one day and realize that you're doing that thing, while living in that place, while married to that person.
We long to be known and we fear it like nothing else.
Most people live with subtle dread that one day,
they will be discovered for who they really are,
and the world will be appalled.

When you say you will pray for someone---DO IT!
Don't just say you will pray about something, or for someone, and then not follow through is something my Sunday School teacher impressed upon me many years ago.
Even better, when someone asks you to pray, offer to do it with them right then and there.
Also never resist the Holy Spirit's prompting to pray for someone---even when it seems odd and out of nowhere.
I have been prompted lately this way, and casually mentioned to one of these people they were heavily on my mind and had been praying for them; their response was they were dealing with some weighty decisions in their life right now, and they were extremely grateful and asked that I continue to pray.
    Very cool.

Don't make pancakes unless you've already checked to see if there is any syrup.

I can attest to this. When my family first started camping when I was growing up my dad swore up and down that he would never pull a trailer. He ended up pulling a 5th wheel before everything was done. We never let him live that one down.
