Is it unmoral for Catholic Priets not allowed to marry?

I will never understand this tradition. Is there proof of information in the bible that states priests can't get married?

It is immoral in the event that celibacy - short of it being a spiritual "gift" - causes one to lust and / or engaging in sinful behavior. If, however, one chooses to be a priest and in full knowledge, celibate. And they can live that life. There is nothing sinful about that.

Yeah, cults are always making up their own rules, that's why they're called cults.

I am fairly certain they base it on this:
    I Corinthians 7
7 - Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am However, each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that.

8 - But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I.

Well that is one of their traditions. So if you want to become a Catholic priest you will have to submit to that rule. We had a big case here in Miami where a priest was caught with a woman on the beach. He ended up having to leave the Catholic church. They got married, and he now ministers in a Episcopal church.

What always boggles me is that their "first" "pope" was Peter. Who we know was married. Jesus healed his mother in law.

1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

And they have had their share of "not containing" and "burning"

Yeah I don't think it's a good idea to deprive a man of his most powerful desire. But that's just me.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all.

In the Dark Ages, many priests of the Catholic Church were not only illiterate and therefore unable to read scripture for themselves, they were openly living with women and having families.

Yet they still don't realize it's not working, by paying out settlements in the millions.

This is the scripture that jumps out at me so would I use the word immoral concerning not to marry... no. Deceived, yeah... I'd say that based on scripture.

1 Tim 4:1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.

    ~Do not quench the Spirit ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:19~

"So what hardship are you willing to endure, to see My will accomplished through you?"~

~Your relationship isn't knowing "ABOUT" GOD! Relationship is to "KNOW" GOD,
so that in the end and you stand before Him for the first time in heaven… HE KNOWS YOU~

~Do we, as Christians witness Jesus to the lost because we love Jesus? Or do we witness Jesus to the lost because we love them as Jesus loves them?~

~A prompting from God means that you are to DO. Thinking, causes you to... NOT DO!~

~Being on the tall mountain is where "you" go, to meet with God. Being in the deep valley is where "God" goes, to meet with you!~

Awesome post Slug1 and as Christians we aknowledge this, but Catholics don't and won't due to traditional sacrifice which unfortunetly doesn't work, although the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak, oh so weak.

That gurgling liquid cyclonic sound everyone hears is the sound of rational dialog going away.
