I just looked through my pictures so far and picked out a few of my favorites, but keep in mind that I've only had this camera since Tuesday of this week, so I'm still learning how to use it and all of it's features!

I love this picture of your niece! She is one beautiful lady! And may I say, a very well taken picture! You'll be a great photographer soon!

    Love you lots,

First and foremost, I LOVE to sing. It's my "thing." As my hubby, Tango, will tell you I've always got some lyric or tune on the brain. I sing with the worship band at our church and would do so every week if they'd let me! When I'm singing, I have a confidence that I don't feel I have any other time. It's how I express myself and I feel closest to God when I'm singing or just listening to a piece of music.

My love of music comes from my late aunt who was a music teacher. She introduced me to it when I was a child and encouraged me to keep at it throughout my life. I remember her teaching me "My Favourite Things" from "The Sound of Music" on a visit to Maryland, where she taught. On the same visit I was allowed to go to school with her one day to see her in action. Really cool stuff when you're 8! One of my favourite memories is of us playing piano duets together, just 2 short years ago, with me playing the melody and her "the left hand" which is something I've never quite mastered! LOL. As you can all tell, I loved my aunt very much and I miss her every day. I'm largely the woman I am today due to her influence and the opportunities she made possible.

Other hobbies I enjoy are reading, journaling, cross stitch, cooking and, thanks to Mieke, card making!

I love to sing but I'm having to overcome some "wrong programming" from my childhood...I was convinced that I couldn't sing and should just not do it... now, God seems to have folks trying to remove that programming and get me to sing and sing out loud....we're getting there...

Awe Frecs. I've had the same experience. More power to you in overcoming that! Some people don't need to put in much effort and can just sing well or great naturally while the rest of us might miss a note or twenty. XD It's a serious shame though when people with a natural gift are brain washed into believing they don't have what they do and those that are trying get beat down into thinking they can't accomplish their goal. Naturally gifted or not we all can sing. Hymns would be pretty useless and some of the Psalms without meaning or truth if that weren't the case. <3

"For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But
    joy comes in the morning."
    -Psalms 30:5

My favorite hobbies include yarn - knitting and crochet.
Mostly I crochet toys and play food for my girls, and I like to knit washcloths, fingerless mittens and baby socks.

Here are some of pics of play food I've made:

Actually, the cake I made for myself. It sits in a cake stand on the top of my fridge. Shortly after I made it we had my MIL over for dinner and she thought it was our real dessert.

Very nice Rene! The first thing I knitted was a giant green... thing. It was supposed to be a throw. It ended up with so many holes I did throw it. Right into the trash. lol I did manage to make a nice pile of dish clothes, but I'm afraid I don't remember how to do it anymore. Your abilities are much to be admired and I bet your girls love the things you come up with!

Beckisted2004, how fun! I enjoyed your photo's very much. (And what an adorable baby!!!) My daughter recently got a macro lens and has been having fun playing with it... like this one:

And being the granmama that I am, I just have to share a couple photo's of my two newest grandbabies, Evie and Addie:

    Evie stylin'

    Sweet Addie

I can knock off two birds with one stone with this one... This is a photo I actually took of my daughter and son-in-law (okay, so all I did was click the button), but it shows a little bit of my garden (which actually is one of my hobbies. )

This is a shot with the macro lens of my husbands 'hobby run-amuck'..

A few more drawings I've done:

The husband in this drawing was killed in combat. The wife never remarried and this was the only photo she had of him. Her children purchased this drawing that combined two photo's (one of him and one of her) as a Christmas gift when she was 82. I sooo wanted to get this one just right!

    Just for fun..

    A vase I painted...

And at the risk of boring you to tears, another hobby I enjoy now and then is making video's. This is my latest. It's pretty long (plays the song twice) because it starts with my own babies and moves on through all seven grandkids.

    Thank you Frecs and Kayte!
Kayte, lovely photography and artwork! I love the photo of the baby in the flowers with sunglasses.
I wish that I could garden. Last year we tried a Square Foot Garden and it was a total flop. The piddly things that did end up growing were destroyed by bugs. We entended to try again with containers on the porch but somehow the Springtime got away from us this year.
