Why then did Jesus not do the same for those that professed to be christians, why were their iniquities not removed?
Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Mt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Are we not really dead to sin, and alive to God? Does what God has forbidden not apply to us?
The message is that we ought not to sin, not that no one sins.
1 Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 Tim 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Instead of teaching that we should not sin we are saying we cannot cease from sin.
