    Range time

    Well, this weekend, I finally managed to squeeze in the time to go burn some primers at the local shooting range (indoor). Took the pistolas, my wife, my brother, and his wife.

    The short version of this story:
    1. Never try to do any serious handgunning in a crowd!
    2. Never get so busy that you let 4 years go buy without burning powder.
    3. Although the eyes aren't what they once were, and the groups aren't as tight as I like, it is good to know that muscle memory is good for something.
    4. Yes, a good Walther (even one 30+ years old) can still shoot acceptable, fast groups at 12 yards.

    Four YEARS!?!?!?! It is time for an intervention. You have got to come up to the house dude! That is ridiculous. We will make up for 4 years in a weekend...

    Soon as I saw the title I thought... MAN, I haven't been on a range in about 2 years. Been about 5 years since a pistol has been in my hand.

    I was bitten by the shooting bug when my wife and I took a trip out to Vegas a few years back. Unfortunately I can't get to a range unless I go halfway across Illinois.

    Good news is it's only about 5 miles from the house, next to a nice little restaurant that my wife and I like.

    Cost was only $15 for a lane, unlimited time as long as I was burning powder. Can buy ammo there or bring you own. For another $15, you can use anything the range has on the rack, from .22 to .45 to AR-15...

    I was actually thinking about golf when I saw the title! My revovlers need some shooting as well and we have a indoor range here as well.I know most of you guys like semi autos,but I'm a bit old fashioned.I love my wheel guns. I need to go to the range and practice with the .44 mag since deer season will soon be among us. I love my .38,and it's a hoot to shoot !

    The range in my area also has several guns to shoot,semi autos from .380-.50. No way do I ever need to shoot a Desert Eagle .50,not with ammo at $5.00 a bullet.

    The $$ are crazy, but I love the big-bore handguns... .500 S&W Mag... .454 Casull... .50AE...

    Forget scientific universe-origin theories... THAT's the Big Bang, right there!

    The uncompensated .500 S&W is insane. An acquaintance was shooting his without a glove. He fired maybe ten rounds at the range and has had permanent nerve damage in his hand since.

    The Freedom Arms single-action Casull is frameable as art between uses.

    The biggest thing I have is a Raging Bull w/ 8 3/8 barrel in .44 Mag.
