SO do yall think they are faking it???
Cause the WHOLE church does it. The only way the whole church could do it is if either a)some ppl are faking it or b) speaking in tongues is something all Christians can do
Clarification anyone?

Tiffany, my gifting is primarily prophetic in nature. On a number of occasions God has given me a message which has spoken into someone's situation in ways I couldn't possibly have expected based on things I couldn't possibly have known. On one specific occasion God gave me something to speak over someone which had very dramatic results (I won't go into detail on that one because the details aren't relevant here, and I don't want the discussion to derail onto the specific ways God uses specific people).
I don't speak in tongues.
1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.
I agree with what you say... we all are one Body of Christ but within a "specific" church... all the gifts will manifest. God isn't gonna place 2 people who speak in tongues in one church, 2 that can heal in another, a prophet in the one across town, and 4 who's faith is such a gift that their faith move people in their church and happens to be located downstate.
That is what I was saying... I guess![]()

Well, we all can believe but do any operate in any of the other 8 gifts besides Tongues. Concerning Tongues, if they are all yelling out loud and no translation... they are in need of correction as the Corintians were.
As Tango posted about his operation in the gift of prophecy, the Lord has used me in manifesting the gifts of knowledge and wisdom for 3 years now in our church and I have never spoke in tongues because that is not the gift God has given me. I have also prayed in my capacity as an elder in the church I serve God at and these prayers have resulted in the healing of those prayed over and laying on of hands.

hmmm so why do they believe that then? If it's not scriptual? I think pentecostals just like to place an emphasis on the Holy Spirit. Which I kind of like because growing up in a southern baptist church they hardly ever talked about the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit is equal to the Father and Son and should be treated as so and not left out of discussion. But I just don't know if you automatically start howling in tongues when you are baptized with Spirit.
What about the healing? Can penetacostals really lay hands on someone and heal them. I saw a girl faint right there in church when the pastor grabbed her forehead and prayed with her. They even had ushers stand behind her like they knew this would happen? Is that fake too?
Or are the pentecostals right and we're all missing out? lol

so you believe you can actually heal illnesses by touch? aren't you a pentecostal? they believe that illness cannot affect you if you are saved.
Well let me share something that happened to me in my former church. When I got baptized I was prayed for and after several minutes of prayer and frustration, I think I made a noise. I don't think I spoke in tongues but I was so nervous. To me tongues was always something that I was a bit skeptical and frankly freaked out about. But some time later on my own as I was praying to God I began speaking in tongues. And not too long ago I was out for a walk and was feeling a bit frustrated and needing to hear from God. After about 45 minutes or so I asked God if He was still with me, and when I address the Holy Spirit directly, the tongues just came out so naturally. They sounded to me like some sort of arabic language. I say that because shortly after I saw a couple of arabic guys having a conversation, and it sounded just like it.
hmmmm well i dont think my pastor will accept that I just can't do it. What should I tell him? I really like this church. Should I just keep church hopping?
Did you know that one of the greatest Revivals in recent history was by Baptist Missionaries in China. The book is called the Shantung Revival and over a three year period of time the Holy Spirit was manifesting in many churches. Once the book was originally published with all the documented experiences detailed, the powers that be in the Baptist church suppressed the book and republished it "without" any of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit detailed. Since then the book has been reissued in it's original edition. Amazing book... and God spearheaded this revival by the empowerment of His Spirit... with Baptists!!

"May the Lamb that was slain receive the just reward for His sufferings." A quote by Moravian missionary that sold himself (along with a friend) into slavery to reach those that the slave owner prevented from hearing the gospel.
May I live for Him and not for me.
By faith and God's will a person will be healed. Am I pentecostal, I laugh because the answer is no. God has placed me in a church that is pentecostal but I go where ever God sends me to serve him. Presently the church I serve is Hispanic and I don't even speak Spanish so God's will does surprise me. I have seen very faithful Christians suffer illness and even pass away. We are not "immune" from illness as long as we live in this flesh.
What scripture do they support their belief that a saved person cannot be ill?
If a saved person cannot be ill, then a church would not need the gift of healing and would only be able to heal unsaved. Many churches today like the one you seem to be describing will cease all manifestations the moment they venture outside the walls of the building that they call a church. If so... beware. The Holy Spirit DOES NOT stop operating once a person leaves their church.
In the streets is WHERE the Holy Spirit wants to lead Christians and do the Great Commission and this means bringing Christ to the lost, healing, tongues, casting out of demons etc. If the only signs such a church has are the ones that they hang on walls that says "Jesus Saves" but no "signs and wonders" that follow them as they go out and bring Jesus to the lost... I'd beware.
