I have asked for prayer before for many of the things in my life. For that reason, I wanted to take a minute and ask that you join me in praise for the wonderfu way our loving Father is working in my life.
First - work. My little company has survived. We have been staggering along for the past year but we have learned what is important and what is not. Some folks approached us to do work that would have been questionable and though we needed the money badly we turned it down. This past month, we have been awarded two contracts that will carry us through a longish period of time and we are grateful.
Second - my husbands business is doing incredibly well, much better than either of us ever anticipated. What he has earned has kept us going. I have not contributed one red cent to the household finances in almost three years. The Lord provides!
Third - a small windfall came my way from an "unknown" benefactor. It had stipulations attached to it, one being that I would not spend it on bills but rather on dinner out and the excess to be spent on necessary things that we have not bought in a while - so 25% will go to someone close to me who has needs and the balance will be spent on clothing for my lovely husband who is wearing shirts and jeans so worn, the seams are frayed and the material is so thin you can read through it. He can once again look like the competent tradesman that he is. This came at a time when we needed a boost - to know that people do indeed care and is a direct reflection of the care God has for us. And while the benefactor is "unknown" - I know who you are and I love you fiercely!
I've saved the best for last - my husbands eyes. There is a thread here where I have asked for prayer for him. To all of you who have kept him in your prayers, thank you! He was blind in his right eye and the left was suffering badly, both caused by macular degeneration. My husband told me a few days ago that not only could he read the fine print on a Coke can without glasses (he was on the front porch in the sun, so the light played a part in it) which he hasn't been able to do in about 15 years, he now sees shapes out of his right eye. t started as a warm glow, like a yellow-gold, no longer black. It has progressed from there to blobs, from blobs to shapes, shapes he can identify. He has not had a treatment in close to a year - this is God and God alone. I cry when I think of how good He is to us.
Thank you all and I apologize for the length of this but I had sooooo much to share.
V
